Nope, their second language is English, that's why they head for the UK. Meanwhile the French take in far more than the UK. In fact the UK is ranked 14th in Europe for the intake of these unfortunate people.

As a matter of interest, how do you know their second language is English? Surely that would depend on the nationalities we are talking about. I think you would be very surprised as to the nationalities of some who arrive. Before you put me down, my wife travels to the South Coast most shifts to assist with the processing of arrivals so I do know quite a bit about this, not just what I gleen from media outlets

Whilst the Channel Crossing migrants are mentioned daily on the news, thankfully not only when disaster strikes, asylum seekers are still arriving daily at airports. Gatwick are receiving, on average, 20-30 Hondurans daily claiming asylum. They travel via Madrid, surely as Spanish speakers this would be the obvious choice of destination? None speak English and have all had their travel arranged through “agents” ( smugglers/ organised crime rings)

It is our problem as well though - it is a Europe wide issue which needs to be solved somewhow.
Immigrants coming to our shores is nothing new and we should do our bit but this way of travel is lethal and at the same time these poor people (most of the time) are also paying a ton of money to unscrupulous criminal gangs in the first instance.
It is all so sad but the French appear to be helping these poor people try and reach the UK and this is plain wrong.

Reuters filmed French police watching a dingy with 40 onboard, including children, yesterday just outside Calais. So not sure what help the police needed, but the evidence they're doing little as it's continuing today.

All the UK has to do, to stop this, is simply go and pick them up.

Correct and the fact that France takes in and settles far, far more than the UK makes it even more of a no brainer in moral terms. Unfortunately the brexit mantra of chest beating and attempting to give the UK a 'bully boy' image by the current 'government' has caused the death of women, children and even very sadly a pregnant woman. Utterly shameful and in full view of the rest of the world.

Without knowing who they are? Or does that not matter? I said before, we basically did what you are suggesting when Sangatte was closing ( we gave the French financial assistance then, by the way). The French failed to process properly those who remained so they just moved further along the coast.
So this is a never ending cycle, which, whether people like it or not, the French have to take some of the blame/responsibility.

What a lot of crap.

The only people who have caused the deaths are those that foolishly choose dangerous voyages to Britain and the scum that facilitate them.

What is shameful is your use of human tragedy to push your anti British agenda.

Yes they do have to share some of the blame and responsibility, but its not feasible to cover 100's of miles of coastline with police and patrols, as we have seen disastrously yesterday.

Man's inhumanity unfortunately always falls on those least able to defend themselves, we walk on by and do nothing.

what are the 2 police officers really supposed to do, you cant stop people if they want to risk the crossing, are we expecting the french police to shoot them?

Reuters didn't say how many police were in situ.
