A minor victory in the shellfish dispute. Most of the problems with exporting are down to the EU playing games. Hopefully they will realise that this damages them as much as us silly to get into a trade war when these issues are easily resolved. Meanwhile expats in the EU are finding life being made very difficult for them. Imagine the outcry in this country if we had done the same to their expats. Edited by Badger11 (18 Apr 2021 9.24am)

This is what is leading to delays. If you have worked at an airport you will know that scheduling of arriving flights is ridiculous, solely to make as much money as possible, no concerns for passengers or staff. I've experienced the utter disdain and disinterest when arriving at Heathrow, lots of staff behind the kiosks chatting away while only a handful of kiosks open and massive queues. So you were employed in this job. Well that makes you at total conflict of interest to reply, clearly defending the indefensible. There are hardly any flights coming into Heathrow compared to normal years and yet still the same "can't be bothered" attitude by the staff, who are getting paid and more than likely getting overtime, benefits etc. Meanwhile, those arriving have paid for the privilege after hours on a flight and should be treated as customers as they are paying the salaries of the border staff, instead are treated like objects getting in the way of the staff. Ever tried the Metro B? More than 440 financial firms have shifted thousands of jobs and £1 trillion of assets out of the UK and into the EU because of Brexit, with more pain still to come. Still maybe, but I actually doubt it, the EU will buy more of our crustaceans.......... I never experienced as a foreign worker in Germany, any such 'difficulties' at all, quite the reverse. You simply have to obey the law as you would anywhere. The UK wanted it that way, and that's what it got.

Once the UK has secured deals with other countries for goods im sure the eu will play ball. Its bully boy tactics because atm they can. The shoe will be on the other foot in good time so karma will happen. Early days. Nothing to stop boris changing rules over here for migrants. Who knows if he will but options are there to copy the eu.

Its plan was to make life as unpleasant as possible for the UK anyway and with Covid thrown into the mix, then it is in even more trouble. But its authority has been severely damaged and the limitations of the trend towards effectively dumping damaged political goods into EU leadership positions has finally had a severe come-uppance. The UK needs to get through the rest of this year and break the back of Covid which means eating s*** for a bit more and then we can hit back. The EU truly is an appallingly badly run institution that has no positive response to Brexit and unable to understand why it happened.

Companies always move assets and people around I lost my London job to Dublin because of the EU tax deal and when that ended the bank moved the same job to India. I remember the Irish Times complaining that Indians were stealing Irish jobs and where did the Irish get them? So I am not surprised that assets and jobs moved to the EU we live in a capitalist world and businesses will do what they think is right for them. What matters is how the UK economy performs and that is now largely in the hands of the UK government post Brexit. If they set the right tax and regulatory regime that business or others will come back to the UK. So still to early to see if leaving was a disaster as some think. Ah the taxpayer, BF staff pay taxes so actually you could say pay their own salary. Do you pay U.K. tax? Possibly not, so you don’t actually contribute towards their salary. Conflict of interest... possibly but I actually know what I am talking about and get sick and tired of people like you who think they know everything, who complain without knowing the full facts. Do you know anything about flight scheduling? ps try using the egates, if you are eligible you won’t have to interact with anyone ( maybe a good thing, given your attitude). Have you also considered that BF have to comply with social distancing rules? Better still try not travelling during a pandemic
