The question put to the British people on the 8th June is:

For Chancellor, choose between:
- a PPE Oxford University graduate or,
- a BSc in Government and Politics from Brunel University

There are no other parties in this race for governance. So as snobbish as you sound (and lol, economics isn't exactly hardcore itself), the people essentially have this binary choice.

If it's all the same to you, I'll take PPE over MaoDonnell and his little red book.

On what authority do you say that?

What have I said that has lead you to think I'm snobbish?

I've not resorted to name calling at least!

All this stuff about growth. Is the man on the street really seeing the effects of this.

More people employed than ever before. That may be so, lots down to more self employed, loads due to zero hours contracts (I know it suits some people). But no one ever mentions (when talking employment figures) that there is a bigger population, hence the increase in people working.

You're 100% correct here Nick. We don't see it. Moreover, it's hard to reconcile the record employment rates with the rise in JSA.

On my own trajectory through academia, thanks. Your disregard for an Oxford PPE degree came across as snobbish in my opinion. My apologies for your thin skin.

Its when they call you an 'abhorrent w****r that you feel you have arrived.

What do you actually do to better society for the less fortunate?

The unemployment numbers are a government statistic you actually believe that about 10,000 more people get work each month?

Add part time workers who have been 'managed' out of the figures by Whitehall and you would have 3 million out of work now.

Everything is a fiddle.

PS. I married a black woman. Did you? If I couldn't see past skin colour, how could I sleep with the woman I love every night? Please do tell me, Peffers.

Can, but won't. Why on earth was Ed Balls under the media spotlight as the putative chancellor if he was then going to be dumped (by the would-be PM, of course, not the public)?

You're telling me that Hammond will be demoted? Corbyn will select a different chancellor?

That's one out of three. Please give my best regards to your wife I am sure she is a great lovely strong woman.

But can we stay on topic? GE 2017.

I don't really have any other figures to go on, I'm afraid. Do you?
