Agree about the substitution. Remy for a midfielder yes but Campbell for Benteke was a joke. Our defence looked in trouble from the first attack, Hennessey not the reason we lost but didn't exactly help. Thought he was really weak on the disallowed goal.

Could we have afforded to be without Benteke for our last three games? Don't forget Benteke had been booked so, maybe, Sam was protecting him for our last three games. The ref was so bad it was a possibility.

Go on then - link please. He's 11th in the 'saves' table. Higher in some & lower in others but overall the numbers place him in the upper half of EPL 'keepers. I was fairly surprised by some of the figures.

He just doesn't exude confidence, although the back 4 were abysmal as well which doesn't help, he did though pull off a top save from a header to prevent us going in 2 down before half time.

Now what would be good is a "mistakes" table or "saves other keepers would have made". But that is entirely subjective. But you cannot base it off of saves made and then it's only in context of shots faced! Edited by robdave2k (30 Apr 2017 9.20am)

I've not argued for or against, just posted a link to the stats. The numbers would indicate that he's not the car crash some think but it's all subjective. Personally, I think he's an average EPL keeper & that the stats don't tell the whole story- I'd like to see how many shots were faced to know what the real save percentage is.

It's like when I used to play Sunday league and you'd have that one guy who'd make mistakes week in week out who couldn't hit a barn door so every time he managed to actually kick the ball without falling over everyone would praise him. The fact is Hennessey has been poor for years, this is nothing new and a couple of solid performances here and there don't change that. His mobility is so below the standard required and he just doesn't command confidence at all.

Hennessey needs replacing, that's just my opinion and not based on yesterday, because he was blameless. In his and the defences defence we have had to reshuffle our defence week after week. Yesterday was our 4th and 5th choice cb's. Edited by Dangermouse (30 Apr 2017 10.33am)

It's pretty f***ing clear that the bloke is useless, as when he does something run of the mill that you'd expect any goalie to do, his supporters are on here going "yeah but he caught that ball well".

How was neither goal his fault? First one, he was unlucky but second was dreadful goalkeeping. Goalkeeping 101, don't get beaten at your near post.

I don't believe it is unstinting support and 'Blind' devotion. Think that many, whilst accepting his weaknesses, believe that some of the criticism has been unwarranted and that that there are those who go out of their way to find fault with every goal he concedes.Seemingly every goal is Hennessey's fault ! As far as I am concerned he has been "Sunshine and showers" but perhaps this could be labelled about many other goalkeepers ! - hopefully he doesn't take time out to read posts about him on HOL !
