Not in this country he didn’t.

Well no he didn't, but I'm sure you aren't suggesting that left wing policies are restricted to national borders.

In the post-war election the Conservatives had almost identical proposals for a NHS in their manifesto.

Pensions and social welfare services go back to Lloyd George.

Free schooling goes back to 1870 under Gladstone.

Can you you give us example of successful socialist/communist governments?

Winston Churchill’s government who defeated the ultra right wing German Nazi party. A party that liberated the world from the clutches of the evil right, makes said party?

General Election incoming? Or would Rishi rather face the dreaded vote of confidence?

What are some of the achievements on the record of this Government then?

Forget any other parties, what have this one achieved in their 13 years of government?

He won't. He can't.

You just know he's going to string this out.

Maybe that is because the right wing laws and ideals are outdated and no longer fit for purpose.

outdated ideas like 'working people should have better outcomes than the Longterm unemployed ? ah yes, no longer fit for purpose.

Especially when you have a 2 Tier society. Some postcodes where nobody has an official job and yet everybody seems to drive a nice car.

Is there room for nuance in your statement? Or is it black and white.
There may be many reasons why some are long term unemployed for example. Disabilities. General uselessness. Job loss due to automation.

Because of Brexit. Plain and simple. That is the only reason that the Tories won the last election at such a canter. Prior to that they were on the ropes. The used populism to stoke the electorates base fears and then presented themselves as the only option to fix those fears. Lie,lies and more damn lies. Nothing has been fixed, only broken. And it's time for them to pay the price for their massive failures by making way in a GE. General Election now! Each day that this sorry excuse for a government clings onto power in any way they possible, is another day where damage is being done to our country and it's reputation.
If you were really patriotic and a nationalist, you'd see this and demand the change yourself.

The problem was the growth of populism, seen first in UKIP, a disease that then infected the Tory party as it tried to rid themselves of the threat of UKIP by calling a self serving referendum that delivered the disaster that was Brexit.

The split we are now witnessing has been predicted both by myself and many others for a long time. It will hopefully drive the right out of the Tory Party and into Remain, or whatever Farage decides to call it next. Then the Tories can concentrate on rebuilding themselves in preparation for the GE after the next as a modern social democratic party with its emphasis on fiscal responsibility alongside a lightness of touch but with no tolerance for lawbreakers or laziness.

I hope to see the New Conservatives emerge with a manifesto that includes establishing an associate membership of the EU.

Job loss due to automation.

England's Northern towns. Coal, steel & textile towns. Our politicians have allowed those places turn into hotbeds of crime, poppy-burning, and ghettoisation.

As a minimum, such places should have had a managed Multiculturalism.....100 ethnicities onto every street - all Loyal to this State. Not what we currently have.

No it doesn't, no one elects a Home Secretary. Also, while I would agree with being uncomfortable with unelected PMs, I have to say....I remember no left wing complaints when Gordon Brown took over.

Edited by Stirlingsays (15 Nov 2023 8.23am)

Oh really? The "unelected PM" appoints his Cabinet so by default she becomes an "unelected" Minister (note the quotation marks).

Gordon Brown was an odious character in government and so were some of his advisors and Cabinet Ministers.

I can't disagree with that. The Tories are to blame for that one as well.
