American politics is indeed corrupted in many ways. Not so the judiciary. They might be political appointees but their master is the law. Maybe you don’t know it, but I do.

Hey…we all know know it. Trump is a bit of an arse but Wisbech Eagle is an anti-Trump bigot who will never see victimisation unless it happens to one of his left wing tribe. All very sad how someone veers so much from the reasonable centre ground. He’s an intelligent man so probably just likes the attention which is equally sad. Here’s my advice. Ditch corrupt Biden. Ditch arsehole sexist Trump, Ditch the partisan heads of the FBI and DOJ and let’s start again. I can see victimisation as well as the next man. I can also see those who are criminals posing as victims. Trump is not a victim. He brought everything he is indicted for onto himself. If he hadn’t done anything wrong there would be nothing to charge him with. If he has done nothing wrong he will be found not guilty. Whether it’s politically in the Democrats interests for these charges to be pressed is highly doubtful, which confirms they aren’t involved. This is due process working itself to a conclusion. That the Republicans are trying to throw mud at Biden in the hope some will stick is what is truly political interference. The Trump base won’t see that in a million years. Will the independents? Let’s hope so. Wiser observers than me are convinced they will and think Trump, despite the polls, has little chance.

Yep I might be the polar opposite of Wisbech Eagle when it comes to politics but I still respect him because he fights his corner and is a Palace fan. He has balls. Wisbech. Perhaps you can also learn to cut your political foes like Trump more breaks.. after all the world would be a duller place without mavericks. So if found not guilty will you take back all the comments over his ‘guilt’ and admit you were wrong and trump is actually not that bad?! This on the back of your “this is not a political witch hunt”, what with the legal system being independent.

Edited by XKudu (11 Jan 2024 9.42pm) Edited by XKudu (11 Jan 2024 10.08pm) When being a complete arse on the Apprentice he was a bizarre fascination. I used to watch thinking how can anyone so self centred be that big a bully and succeed in business. At least those he bullied on that show got paid and volunteered for the treatment. Then when I heard some of American friends suggesting he would not only run for President but would win I couldn’t believe it. I came to realise they were not only serious but right and then realised myself just how sick US politics had become. Being a maverick on reality TV is fine. Being the leader of the western world it isn’t.

In the very unlikely event of him not being convicted I reserve my comments until I know how, why and when. If he gets cleared by the Supreme Court after a guilty verdict and a failed appeal then my cynicism antenna will be twitching. I think he knows full well he is guilty. If not why would he be trying to delay the trials by using every trick his lawyers can imagine? He wants to delay the trials, the appeals and the Supreme Court reviews until after the election so that either the trials get shelved for 4 years or he can pardon himself.

This on the back of your “this is not a political witch hunt”, what with the legal system being independent. As has been said. There’s zero chance of him and his crony family not being found guilty of one or more charges levelled against them. Regardless of political bias anyone who thinks he’s some sort of bastion of humanity has fallen far from the tree and blended their brain via a few branches on the way down. He’s a shyster, a hustler and possibly one of the biggest and most successful grifters of the last half century. Fair play to him for having the balls to do it… but that doesn’t make him America’s saviour. Further - it’s OK to call him out for what he is. It doesn’t mean that you therefore love Biden by default. You can be critical of both. You’re not betraying anyone. It’s OK All that said he did a great job on foreign policy for a while. Mainly because no one had ever had to deal with someone as unpredictable as him before. Problem is that now he’s a busted flush - doesn’t have first mover advantage anymore. Anyone wanting him back in office, or Biden for that matter, is deluded Edited by SW19 CPFC (13 Jan 2024 12.26am)

Since 2018 the number of white men joining the US military has halved. The US military has a significant and serious recruitment crises. Jeez....I wonder why that might be.

I wager Trump considerably less corrupt than Biden or his family and the cases against him are an example of a country in dangerous decline. Regardless I would largely agree with your summation of both Trump and the whole ridiculous situation where the choices offered are poor. Another example of the decline.

Would someone care to explain why the colour of a recruit’s skin is a relevant metric. To use such terminology cements division and does nothing to heal it.

I would remind people that Donald Trump faces multiple charges, including those that could legitimately be described as corruption. Joe Biden faces no charges. Zero! His son does. One faces the legal system and due process. The other faces political fishing and innuendo. One situation is real and serious. The other isn’t real and is only serious because some people want you to believe it is.

Why do I have to explain such obvious stuff? White people make up the vast majority of army recruits to the US army...disproportionally from the southern states. The anti white messaging from people like yourself has real world consequences for what you people apparently want to achieve in the world. You know, people who cheerlead for fighting wars against people who offend their sensibilities but who you never find in the actual trenches.
