I strongly suspect, whatever desires or business cases are put forward for free-flowing, expansive and exciting football, we are going to very much be looking to sh!thouse our way through the next round once again. The Dutch are a good team of course however I'd argue not quite the world class outfit they may have been down the years. I am guessing our approach will be to do our best to shut them out, stifle any attempt from them to actually 'play' and hope that we can sneak a goal against a back three of VdV, VvD and Ake. Barring us somehow getting an early goal or two, it's going to be tense. Not my preferred approach, or even one I'd argue the case for, but it may just work.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I've really enjoyed watching the Dutch; attack with Flair, struggle to finish, and cant defend for toffee.

Personally I believe that England do not have a cat in hell's chance of defeating The Netherlands.

Yep, complete opposite of us really, but I think that plays into our hand quite well. Weird how poor they are at the back given the quality of the individuals - I don't think having a young keeper helps, particularly after a less than convincing first season with Brighton. If they give away the sort of chances they did against Turkey, we will punish them. Gakpo seems their main threat offensively and Walker is a good match on that side. Quite fancy us!

Come on their best striker doesn't get in Liverpools best eleven and their other one got loaned out by Burnley . The defence isnt bad but Van dick hasn't exactly had a great season and the goalkeeper plays for Brighton Not predicting any result but England not having a 'cat in hells chance' is a bit wide of the mark

I personally think switzerland are a better team than Holland, they've got that winger who was terrible at spurs, depay, who wouldn't get in the palace team, I actually rate gakpo and think he should play in front of Diaz for Liverpool, has a much better end product but lacks pace. We've not been great in the slightest but we do look resilient and look like a team who refuses to lose. Would I be surprised if the Dutch win, no, but I'd still make us pretty strong favourites

Think Holland is not to be underestimated. They have some exceptional players. Maden causing problems every defence because of his speed, Van Dyck still up to it, van de Ven one of the fastest defenders. If the get in the swing they are difficult to play. Austria beat them in the group stage but think this was more down to the fact that they underestimated us for a long time. Won't happen when they play England.

I can't see GS making the necessary big changes to get the best out of the squad. He'll stick with the same negativity either because he's too thick or too stubborn. The Swiss game was an improvement but still only a 6/10. We'll need to step up again to beat the Dutch who have some quality players. They've been reliant on big moments from big players and have ridden their luck so far. It will be another tough watch with lots of huff and puff with no obvious game plan or structure. This tournament, much like the last three, we've been blessed with avoiding the strong teams. Whenever we do face them we've always come up short. I predict the same here. The return of Shaw bringing some balance to the team is reason for optimism, however I cannot see how he can possibly be match sharp for such a big fixture. My Dutch mate also thinks they're crap, so I guess the Dutch fans are no different from us. Anyway, hope I'm wrong. Would be a shame for this squad to come up short again.
