You are wrong, do you think Olise is the only decent left footed right winger in the world, he is a top player, but if he has a release clause, and wants to leave, what do you do, lock him in a cupboard? Agreed….his mind has clearly been made up or turned by the prospect of more money. Chance for others to shine on the US tour!

It is worrying isn't it....we know that if Olise goes that Eze will start to wonder why should he stay at a selling club. Losing Zaha at this stage we could cope with but losing another or two of those proven stars would probably send us down. The big clubs are after us. Some people find the money exciting but I remember that losing Ian Wright basically sent the club into a spiral.....just as Venables leaving for QPR and taking players ended the 'team of the eighties' and what could have been. Olise spent his early years at Chelsea and his younger brother is there so he may want to go there even though they’ve proven to be a graveyard for young talent. Eze is different. He’s a kid from South London and he loves the area. He just funded a tournament for kids in the area. He seems like a decent sensible kid and we stood by him when he had that awful injury. He’s managed to get into the England squad by playing great football at Palace. I don’t see him wanting to leave at this stage in his career.

By all means keep getting the latest rumours from social media, only do us a favour and keep them to yourself. This Zaha nonsense is just another classic dose of b0ll0x to go with your news of the ‘completed signings’ of Rhian Brewster, Saïd Benrahma, Flynn Downes and the announcement of our new manager…Frank Lampard Why do you always have to come on here and criticise Dazza, I do frequent social media so get very little information so I welcome his posts. Same old every transfer window, just don’t read his posts then, simple. Edited by Spiderman (24 Jul 2023 8.46am)

I recall reading that when he was at Reading, Olise said to a colleague that he didn't expect to be there long and would be in the PL soon and so it proved (and no doubt the 8m buy out clause was in his Reading contract so he could achieve that). I suspect that if there still is a buy-out clause in his Palace contract it will be there so that he can move up the ladder at the first opportunity as well.

I'd be gutted if we lost olise aswell this summer, I suppose its better having players that other clubs want rather than players no one wants. Brighton and Brentford have shown it can make your club even more successful if you invest wisely.

There is a pecking order, some are above us, but more are below us, QPR, Reading, Chelsea Reserves, Lens, Lyon, where we got our top five players, we have to get the best from the championship and abroad, continue the excellent recruitment of the last 2/3 years.

We should be doing all we can to get Mike Tresor of Genk or Jack Clarke of Sunderland, both are clubs below us in the pecking order

And for a lad that wanted to move up the ladder, he's been smart to have clauses inserted which prevent chairmen from standing in his way. Its what Harland did with Dortmund, and apparently has one in place with Man C. If Kane had the sense he would have gone one sorted and so not been held hostage by Levy.

I am with you on this Stirling. This in a nutshell. When Roy accepted the job for next season I saw it as neither a step back or a step forward, rather, a battening down the hatches for what was coming next. Subsequent goings on have only strengthened my opinion in this regard. We'll do well to avoid relegation. Palace are a bit like a game of snakes and ladders.

I am with you on this Stirling. Was thinking this myself and I think you're absolutely spot on. They clearly foresaw an extremely turbulent summer and felt that he was the best person to steady the ship. And while I was extremely underwhelmed with his reappointment, I am actually glad he's here now.
