It was always going to take a mass tragedy to get these political retards into action. Just for the moment it's about swerving the blame, then something might actually get done. Why does it always take a tragedy to get some action ?

Once they have arrived here we have a duty of care so I think it is fair enough. However we should be sending them back assuming they are economic migrants. In France they have allowed these makeshift camps to exist something that would not happen over here as the public would not stand for it. The reason these migrants want to come to the UK is the French treat them very badly.

In France, heard on France 24 news channel. Thanks. Well the French allow these people into their country with no legal status and then choose not to either give them asylum or return them. I think that's the bigger issue than mobile phones.

Ireland is totally open to all and sundry. Totally cucked by EU law. Edited by PalazioVecchio (25 Nov 2021 12.32pm)

Edited by PalazioVecchio (25 Nov 2021 12.32pm) The sudden demographic change is astonishing. In places, the direct provision centres hold more people than the local area has living in it already. Say anything and, obviously, you're racist. See the Roscommon one, not even funny. [Link]

France sees this as an entirely UK problem, which they have been saddled with on their shores, and they have had all the costs until recently. France already takes 4 times the number of refugees as we do, and the EU many more, but the EU does not take these people anymore due to brexit. It is not illegal as everybody is incorrectly stating, no legal challenge has been successful. The solution is simply to pick them up from France, we need them as we have lost too many valuable workers, and we have a basic human duty in respect of refugees by international convention. But the nub of this tragedy is the basic inhumanity of the UK asylum system.

"When compared with EU countries, the UK ranked 14th out of the individual countries in terms of the number of asylum applications per capita."

This problem has been around longer than Brexit, I worked for a while at Sangatte processing applications, this was 2002! The French closed down Sangatte but failed to deal with those still there, they just moved further slong the coast.
