Bournemouth down to 10 men, with an hour left to play. So want Bournemouth to get to the final, so we have a chance of getting Frank in.

If we do not hear who the new manager is on Monday my feeling is it will be one of the managers involved in the Championship play offs. If Roy indicated weeks ago he was going Parish would have already earmarked the man he wants and will be free to make the announcement. No announcement and it will be be a playoff man.

That's the obvious, logical conclusion to draw isn't it? My only other line of thought is that the club are happy to approach Burnley, Barnsley and Swansea once their respective seasons have ended, and see which, if any, will agree a compensation figure for their managers, then have an interview process. It'd take time but perhaps they feel player recruitment is down to Freedman anyway and they'd rather get the right manager following a thorough process than the first available one. Edited by TheBigToePunt (22 May 2021 2.53pm) Agreed that would be the gentlemanly course to take and may well be the case. We do have , I think, until the end of June for player contract renewal and the new man if approached this way would still be in place to make his choices.

Bournemouth out, Brooks in! First priority for any player from the Championship Micheal Olise - this boy will be a star and has a reported £8M release clause - would be a bargain at that price. Even more so now with Eze out until Christmas. COYP

Don't think we will be able to get Frank after that result, I make Brentford favourites to win the play-off final now

It would seem very amateurish to say the least if we our awaiting the outcome of the playoffs to then approach the named manager to come to us and risky .But probably ethnically the proper way.But it's mult million business were our talking about .

Whilst there might not be much of a rush to decide on new contracts, we have to consider new signings coming in as well. I would have thought that the person deciding who stays will also decide who to try and sign, otherwise we might end up with too many players in one position and not enough in another. What this all adds up to is whether we are employing a manager who will control or at least steer recruitment, or a coach who will work with whatever we give him. I've always thought we were very much the latter. If that's correct then I suppose it doesn't matter if the coach doesn't get appointed for a good few weeks yet - Freedman will be releasing, buying and selling regardless.

Personally I think our next Manager will be Dyche. I have no inside knowledge and/or insight to come to that conclusion. But it just seems logical to me - if rumors are true there’s been a number of contacts and conversations in the past - so if you except that as being true Parish obviously rates him. After the FDB debacle I just can’t see Parish taking another “flyer” at an unproven - Premiership Manager - far too much at stake. Dyche is probably the nearest thing to a younger Hodgson - used to operating on a limited budget and has a proven track record of maintaining Premiership status. Personally I’d go with Frank and/or Howe - if I was going to take a flyer from the Championship Id go Thomas Frank he’s done brilliantly at Brentford, whilst losing star players season after season - but after today’s result think there’s every chance he will be in the Prem with Brentford next season - so that’s probably now a no goer..!! In Parish we trust and time will tell - think all will be revealed next week. COYP

Can’t players sign agreements with new clubs after January in their final contract year? I’m not sure many of ours would get great offers so they might hang on to see what we’ll offer, but I seem to remember reading this.
