Complete and utter joke. We’ve needed a centre forward since the start of the window, why else did we take Batshuayi on loan last season? We sold our right back for 50million & the owners have just pocketed the money.

People will probably accuse me of hyperbole & hysteria. But unless Parish is planning on another spend up in January, I think we could be in a lot of trouble this season. Relying on Benteke & Ayew with an unsettled Wilf (who we should’ve let go weeks ago), is just not gonna cut it.

You cannot stand still in the Premier league. You just can’t. Not with the way other clubs are strengthening, all around us. And the problem is, not only are we standing still, we’ve been standing still for a couple of years with regards to signings.

Parish is lucky that Roy seems to just get on with it. It’s no surprise he goes through managers like hot meals, why would anyone wanna put up with this?

I think we can also safely determine the whole Dougie experiment has been a failed one.

Possibly the worst scouting network in the league & a shambles of a window.

Negligent to my mind.
No right back or goalscorer.
Two central midfielders which arguably we don’t need.
Hodgson has just said on Sky that Zaha did want out but there had not been an acceptable offer.
From what I can see we’ve signed two fees in Cahill and Henderson , spent £2.5m on Ayew, £3m initial on McCarthy and an initial loan fee on Camarasa.
This approach is what you would expect from a struggling Championship team and fans are entitled to question the scouting approach of the club.

Spot on.

Disgraceful

Wow you think it can't get any worse then previous windows and we get that.

If we stay up this season it must mean God is a Palace fan.

Shocking how poorly this club is run every other club has gone out and spent we have again gone for players to just make up numbers and not even filling in holes we have had for years.

The excuse about no money is complete load of rubbish.

We didn't even bother to go for a bunch of loans either

Enough is enough SP has to go.

This hits the nail on the head very firmly.

We've needed a striker for a couple of years. Benteke and Wickham are spent forces.
Keeping Wilf who must be well peeed off is not a good move for anyone.
Something weird is going off at Palace but god knows what.
Serious failure in this window if that is us done as Sky are reporting.
Very disappointing.

There is a distinct lack of ambition about it all.

Re lack of strikers they have taken the same approach as last season. If they are firing blanks I expect a loan deal from January. We are arguably better off as we have Wickham fit this time round ( touching wood) whereas we had Sorloth last season). Regarding no replacement for AWB Parish is probably looking at it from the perspective we are back to where we were before AWB burst on the scene. We have Ward and Kelly as a back up.
I am not saying I agree with the approach but I understand Parish’s approach with the bulk of AWB proceeds balancing the books from prior window overspends.
The key to this working I’d managing Wilf and getting the best from him. If he sulks then we are in big trouble. If he does he shoots himself in the foot as he will never get his dream move

I think we are in for a difficult season, zaha doesn't want to be here. We have no goalscorer, wickham as second choice who has played a handful of games in the last 3 years. No back up wingers, ageing squad, one of the oldest in prem. The captain wont sign due to a lack of ambition from the club. We didn't strengthen in the areas we desperately needed, rb and CF. Why did we leave it so late.

It isn’t rubbish, but I imagine we were buying the Russian forward with the view that when we sell Zaha we’d be okay. But we fvcked that up because we left it too late again.

So who’s available on a free then? Mainly in the right back and striker position. Main ones I knew about were Welbeck and Simpson. Welbeck has gone to Watford. Simpson is interesting but is he better than Ward?
