and if Benteke fails to score for another dozen games you will still be telling us to hold fast and wait for him to rescue us ?

how is the weather down there on the South coast ? or is it SouthEast london ? will you be upset when the redeveloped Selhurst will dwarf The Valley and the Durex Stadium and The Den ?

I have a feeling Roy will drop Benteke for the Spurs game. He needs to show poor performances won't be tolerated. Sorloth has given us another option and Benteke has to earn his place back. Sick of watching him. Really am. Also, we can all give him a big boo (ala Schneidelin) if he comes on as a sub ;-)

And he will come off the subs bench to score the winner !

Hodgson might give him another chance.Benteke has come close of late with headers just wide and shots saved and "Our Roy" might believe that he cannot keep missing and this could be the game when he scores.I think Tottenham would rather he didn't play than play.

No , but I find it preferable to wait and see if he does and accept what he does bring to the team whilst waiting.

By the way , it's very easy to ignore your intended insults if you want to save taxing yourself in future.

Its not all about Benteke......
A diabolical start to the season
A very poor transfer window
Missed penalties in stoppage time
Missed chances in general
An injury list that takes the biscuit,i am surprised we are still clear of the bottom 3!

stuck up here with a load of northern monkeys!

Think Hodgson might go with the lone striker and play 5 across the middle bringing in Riedewald.I think he would take a point.

well roys got to do something pal but the way things have gone today it's got to be quick don't you think and starting with sorloft up top with wilf has to be an option worth trying definitely the feeling is if we carry on with Benteke i can't see things working out for us to be honest

Never mind at least you can watch Palace in Sheffield next year.
It may be best if you do go back to United for a bit , you started on here all jolly and now you are very negative.
It's a shame that the HOL negativity has got to you.
Go back to Sheffield have fun and be happy.

I'm totally pi$$ed off with the Benteke excuses.

Lacking confidence ? I've never seen a more arrogant player - he projects his sense of superiority all the time! He was certainly confident when he took the pen off of Lucca !!

Poor service ? If he wasn't getting the chances he wouldn't be racking up the regular misses !

Liverpool friends have said he was the laziest striker they'd ever had at Liverpool and they were amazed that they managed to recoup their transfer fee ! I think he is probably the laziest striker I have ever seen.

Yesterday his movement was once again extremely poor and at one point Townsend remonstrated with him because he wasn't making the runs expected of a striker.

Sorloth is obviously not the finished item yet but he showed enough yesterday to warrant playing him instead of Benteke as a lone striker. The lad is keen and a willing runner plus he seems very confident of his ability to score. Roy certainly has talked him up and obviously believes in him so he should give him his chance and bench Benteke. PLEASE

There seems little doubt that Murray would have got more goals this season from the chances that Benteke has not taken.
Benteke averages 2 misses per game
Murray has scored 10 this season for Brighton in an essentially defensive team.
He also works harder, puts defenders under pressure, wins free kicks and defends set pieces.
This is not say Murray is anything special.
The central point is that any half decent centre forward would have made a better contribution than Benteke this season.
The sad truth is that with the transfer window closed and lack of goals from elsewhere Palace may well go down if Benteke does not significantly up his game.
