This post has been merged from a topic called 'Vote For Your Next Manager' by kenbarr As managers normally take their back room staff with them to another club, and as SA won't be doing that, why not just keep the staff as it is? The back room staff now would be able to keep the SA philosophy that brought the success in the 2nd half of his tenure, keep the training methods, nutrition and work ethics that have been set. So maybe a left field suggestion, but why not leave it with Sammy Lee at the helm? I imagine he would have been speaking at length with SA regarding team selection and tactics, has worked under SA for years and it would then not be a big change. An issue I would see could be attracting players without a name in charge.

Ranieri, you must be joking. He kept the style of play created under Pearson and won the 5000/1 pot. Then threw money out of window and tried to change playing pattern. Result? Most of the newcomers not good enough, the club heading for relegation till they went back to their winning formula again. Foreigner OK, but please no Mr Tinkelman. Not sure about high-so manager like Mancini either.... But he did sign Kante for a paltry £5.6 Mill and he of course was hugely influential in Leicester's League Championship success.

There's nothing to suggest he's anything other than a very good Lieutenant, but a General he ain't. "An issue I would see" would be needing a Pulis/Allardyce by Christmas.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

I'm amazed 1% have gone for Hodgson. He'd have Benteke taking corners and wide free kicks. I'd be extremely disappointed if he was our next manager. I'd add Lucien Favre to this list (as others have mentioned). Also Pascal Dupraz from Toulouse. Done a good job with very small teams in Ligue 1 with no money and still reasonably young for a manager.

Whoever comes in, I hope they stick to giving some youngsters a go pre season like Sam was planning to. I'd like to maybe Kirby and Dreher get a go and see what they can do

If SL takes the training sessions, works with the players on a daily basis and keeps the backroom staff that have been part of the turnaround - why do you need a general? So why not a Director of Football and SL as coach?

Maybe Jokanovic is who we need as he certanly wasn't afraid to give the youngsters a chance at Fulham, albeit in the Championship. You never know, maybe if we got him he could persuade Sessegnon to come as well.
