Fair enough, however, there were more fatal car accidents and murders during this time, than last year. In fact, the news and government, made a point of wondering how there were so many road fatalities during lockdown. I found it strange myself. The dangerous driving during lockdown was obvious.

The over recording scandal is definitely gaining traction more and more. It starts on Twitter with those experiencing it but takes 3 months for it to make the MSM and then politics. I wonder why.

We did. Said this before. It was reliant upon promises made by Central and Local Government and these were not forthcoming. We also found guidance changed daily, especially on PPE. Additionally, all Care Homes were under huge pressure from Government to accept people from NHS Hospitals to clear the beds, even though it was clear that would result in a massive spike in cases in Care Homes. This was a genuine scandal. By the way, we are amongst the 16% of beds that are not in the private sector. We are a charity and make no profit. Oh, and we are COVID free and have the only Care Home in Camden that stayed COVID free throughout the crisis to date. But it's incredibly hard to keep it out completely, if Hospitals can't do it with all of their equipment and expertise then it's pretty remarkable if a Care Home can.

Some achievement keeping the virus out. My mother used to work in care homes, as did my wife. A thankless task, they used to take the deaths to heart.

Illegal rave near Bath. I get that the police were overwhelmed with the numbers but this started yesterday and did not finish until lunchtime today. Meanwhile the locals were rightly complaining that the music was so loud it could be heard at distance. Obvious question why not cut the power to the event first light this morning? No music no rave.

I think what cryst was trying to say was, some care homes have been making vast profits for years and have had time to prepare. They obviously spent very little of their profits on preparation and now are putting the blame solely at the Government’s door.

Last I heard it had been present in around 50% of homes, more in London though. So I'd think decent planning and good fortunate is the answer. Best of luck to them over the winter months. Hopefully a combination of lessens now learned and measures known to have helped will give them a fighting chance.
