Anyone politicising their child's upbringing and feeding them a racial worldview they're obliged to accept is an abject failure at parenting. That girl looks confused rather than happy to be holding the sign, and rightly so.

However the cop shoving him apparently shares your outlook, and this was the result it achieved. Edited by BlueJay (05 Jun 2020 12.42pm) If the old boy shared my outlook he wouldn't have fell over

Freedoms to break the law? Peoples perception of how protesters behave and what constitutes reasonable force by police can be extremely arbitrary and situational. As the yellow vests thread attests to, where the riots "gave people hope". As such, finding a balance that can apply to all is sensible, because at some point it will be a person's own worldview on the receiving end. Many Republicans appear to be concerned at the military overreach for example. Of course all parties and people have their own take though. They're not obliged to operate by the same standard they expect of others, which is the story of modern day polarised politics really.

Back in the eighties and nineties I was working in a bank unit that supported Reinsurance companies. Most people don't understand what they do (insurance company for insurance companies or a bookies bookie). At the time I was forever explaining what reinsurance is now that is behind me I keep bumping into people who worked in the same field e.g. 2 of my neighbours. I think this is where I learned to become an alcoholic the brokers and underwriters were always entertaining us.

They've pumped trillions into it which has made investors more comfortable with sitting tight. Maybe as things pick up that will be enough to help weather the covid storm, or perhaps the house of cards will come falling down as the past few months have come at an enormous economic cost. Reality might once again hit further down the line. That could be post election though if the money printer keeps on printing..
