A deluded lefty talks about being 'mislead'. Very amusing. The Tories lost the election when COVID happened and they sacked Johnson. They just took out the only Tory who speaks the language that most people relate to. Bring it on I say. There you go again in restating your misguided belief that “most people” think like you. They don’t. You are part of a noisy, active and reasonably large minority. But a minority nonetheless. The best you can hope for are a few seats being won by Reform in some particularly dark corners.

You joining Reform would be the best possible outcome. It’s where people who think like you belong. You deserve to be represented but not by a mainstream party hoping for government. The Tories must finally rid themselves of the populist right if they are ever going to hold power again. It always was a fallacy that the right and centre right wings could co-exist and this has been proved many times in recent years. Time to be honest and depart. I believe that is what todays reshuffles are really about, to end the populist nonsense that has plagued our politics and society for far too long. End the culture wars. Bring the populace back together. And get on with repairing this damaged nation. I don’t think that will be enough to win the Tories the next election. But it will be good to have the shadow government on a similar page.

Yeah, I bet you really have your finger on the pulse in downtown Truro or where ever it is you and your bowls club friends reside.

You surprise me there. Had you down as a kindly old chap. Not the supporter of some deranged evil witch who thinks homelessness is a lifestyle choice. Originally posted by Willo
Suella Braverman is on my wing of the party. She was removed from office for speaking the truth. Sunak capitulated to the mob calling for her head. I am just about to depart to meet with fellow Conservatives on the right of the party. Edited by Willo (13 Nov 2023 7.36pm)

So, what is your opinion on her 'Lifestyle choice' pronouncement? I have known a learned gentleman for years and he is currently involved as a volunteer working at a foodbank. He asserts that in his area there are a raft of shelters for the homeless but many chose to continue with their lifestyle as one of the conditions for admission is that they relinquish their use of drugs and they choose not to do so. When I heard of the "Lifestyle choice" my thoughts turned immediately to what I was informed by my dear chum.

Conservatives will go into the next GE with a similar level of disrespect to voters that Labour did in 2019. Just goes to show most in the Westminster bubble have no idea what their constituents want and if they do they will ignore them as suits. I agree with those who predict a lot of Conservative votes will go to Reform UK, now it will be interesting to see if the current splits in Labour over the Middle East are still a factor when the election comes around, I think probably not now.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
