Roy may pull the plug on Palace, like Big Sam, and it may not be his last club.

Roy is a highly intelligent and well travelled chap who, despite this, seems to have a narrow view of how the game is played.
He seems more comfortable with solid players (frequently British ) who will rigjdly adhere to a structure and not play off the cuff.
I’ve observed his teams at Fulham, WBA and more recently us and they’ve all shared similar traits.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with this as evidenced by his long career.

Thinking back at his time at Palace he’s only genuinely surprised me once with his selection and tactics.
We were without an authentic striker at home to a very strong Chelsea team so he paired Zaha an Townsend as a mobile front 2 and they ran the Chelsea defence ragged leading to a well deserved victory.
It proved to be a master stroke and caught Chelsea totally unawares.
Other than that I can’t recall any innovations or selections that have surprised the opposition ( and even our fans).

Apparently McKenna doesn't want to join while Ipswich are still in with a shout at promotion.

For me, we should wait until the season is over and then go all in for Edwards of Luton.

We would be a perfect step for him, near the top of his realistic possibilities.

He'd get us playing front foot, physical football but still be pragmatic when needed.

What more can he realistically achieve there?

can see your point although it Luton stay up and we go down, why would Edwards wish to manage us in the Championship??

We're four points above Luton but, realistically, their next three games are United, Liverpool and Villa. Ours are Everton, Burnley and Spurs. Then we play each other.

If we're not 6-8 points ahead of them by that point, something is seriously wrong. They shouldn't finish above us.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I,for one, welcome the new philosophical turn of this thread.

“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely long ball players”?

Apropos the tenure of Mr Hodgson there does appear to be an acceptance from supporters that he will be in situ until the end of the season much to the disappointment of those who want him to be shown the door.Time will tell !

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Looks like he is staying until end of season otherwise mr parrish would have acted by now i am sure ? Any new manager would want as long as possible to keep us up .

The club has certainly kicked this managerial can down the road so far! Chelsea was always a stretch and to be honest a robust Everton side away won’t be any easier!

I can sort of see the thought process our chairman is going through especially if the “available” candidates prefer not to accept the challenge that is a talented but injured team in disarray!

For me I’m sure Roy will get the opportunity to beat Burnley at home, irrespective of Everton result! Only failure to do that will result in the parachute being pulled! I fully expect him/team to make that happen.

If you believe Roy will keep us up -- and I do -- then there's a lot to be said for waiting. Our squad come summer will be incredibly impressive and even if we sell some silver, there should be decent replacements available.

Would I cry if Roy went today? Not at all. Would it be a disaster if he didn't? Absolutely not.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

I have had an epiphany!

Parish needs to sack Roy. Today! Now! Then… and this the genius bit… hire him back to save us from relegation. Everyone is a winner. Those who wanted him out are happy and he is at the top of SP’s list of season saviours.

Come on that’s the way forwards

On a serious note Edwards would be amazing. I think him and O’Neill have been everything you want from a manager and both well suited to Palace.

A lothario might make attempts to attract 'Belles of the ball' but sometimes they show no interest at all.

This rhetoric is from personal experience in bygone days !
