Yes I think this is the year we go bust and leave top flight.

Don’t see them lining up to take the managers job.

Ask yourself. Would you want the job.

Hell yeah!
Are you seriously asking if anyone would want the Palace job?
Some 'fans' have a pretty low opinion of the club they claim to support.
If you are talking about top European managers then of course not but that isn't our market is it? We're not in huge debt. Not being forced to sell our best players. We are in the best league in the World. We are located in London. We have a Cat1 academy. The list goes on and on.

Ridiculous to suggest no one would want the job.

Neither you or I know what is being said to the players pre match or during it.

I'm guessing that you wouldn't have written any of this if we were winning games.

Completely agree. I also doubt the banner would have come out if we'got a result or even come close to one.
What happened to getting behind the team eh? Seems an old fashioned concept but....

Uncle Tom Cobley and all.

He is my manager of choice as anyone couldn't possibly be worse than the current 'stuck in his ways' incumbent.

However, if Olise gets fit soon, if Ayew gets back from AFCON and he plays Franca to liaise with Eze (instead of sticking him out on the wing) and plays Ebowei as a winger and Ahamada as the midfield provider - we will be OK. More likely pigs will fly and he'll stick with Hughes, Schlupp and Mateta. Old leopards never change their spots ...

I suspect there are a few who would be interested if approached but whether any receive a call in the near future is open to debate and conjecture.

As Jason Cundy pointed out on Talksport the other day, changing the manager does nothing to change results if the owners continue to withhold investment in the team. We had a third of our attack missing Saturday (with Ayew at AFCON and Olise injured). Had we had someone on the bench that could help we might have offered more up front. Roy's pragmatic style may not be easy on the eye but when we have our strongest team out we are a match for anyone. When we have injuries to key areas we look like lambs to the slaughter.
This will not change unless the owners give the manager some help.

Frankly the only thing I blame Roy for is maybe not being more insistent that players are desperately needed.
As for all the other moans about him? I personally thought it was the right time to move on in the summer and make a clean break. The fact he was given another year means its our job as supporters to get behind him. We all knew what kind of football we'd be seeing this year. That was never going to change.
The only difference is the horrendous injuries we've had. This is what has caused a drop down the table. Not Roy. We all know if we are being honest with ourselves that if we had gone through this season relatively injury free we would be somewhere between 9th and 12th in the table and I doubt anyone would be moaning.

I will accept that the injury to Doucoure and the injuries to Eze and Olise which has resulted in them hardly playing together has had a significant negative affect on the team.

At present we are not cut adrift and at this moment in time one could conclude that there is a greater chance of three teams below us plummeting through that relegation trapdoor.

The press/click bait articles keep coming. Try this one - at least he seems to have looked at our squad options:

I have to agree without the return of Doucoure Olisse and Ayew any manager is going to struggle and with them we would be ok. On balance I would stick with Roy for the rest of the season especially if we are unable to strengthen the squad with players with the ability to go straight into the side not the Franca type player who may or may not make it. The big change should come in the summer suited to whichever division we are in. For me with Roy it will be the Premiership and I would sooner suffer pragmatic football for the rest of the season to achieve that aim.COYP

I agree, As I previously mentioned, I didn't want Roy to stay on and was disappointed when it was announced. No reflection on Roy but I just felt it was the right time for all parties to move on. However, we are where we are. Roy is a safe pair of hands. Those type of managers are a dying breed in the Premiership. With a fit squad he'll keep us up. I have no doubt. The football wont be great but again this is not any kind of surprise to any one. With Roy you know what you are going to get.
Personally I think everyone should get behind the team, accept whatever football is on offer till the summer and hope the owners make the right decisions in May that move the club forward. Investment in the team has to be on top of replacing any departures. If for example Olise was to leave for big money (or Eze) that player has to be replaced too. For a change the club need to give the necessary Championship or European club what they want for that replacement instead of trying to do it on the cheap.

The concern is if injuries don't improve he has shown no idea of how to work around it. He hasn't tried untested players to any great degree, he hasn't come up with any new offensive tactics, he hasn't gone down the route of a more physical and aggressive approach, or worked out a way to go more direct. The one change was to go 3-4-3 when we don't have any wingbacks, Schlupp is not a right winger and he puts Eze out on the left. We are no longer that hard to break down, we can't defend setpieces and our offensive set pieces have no creativity at all. I just don't see anything that he's getting right at the moment.

Sometimes changing the manager just gives the place a boost. It's not always fair on the manager, but it works so often if you make the right choice. The fact is any half decent manager will keep us up when the core of the team is fit.
