Evening All, I am happy to take any flack or abuse you want to throw at me, but believe me you ask anyone at the club they fully expected Zaha to sign a new deal. It was even being reported in days leading up that Zaha was likely to stay at Palace even the bookies had us as favourites. Gala came from nowhere in the last 48hrs & have closed the deal. In regards to Olise this again has come from nowhere. We was all told there was a release clause & it then was removed now it sounds like it hasn’t. I’m being told £50m, also Olise is said to want the move so looking likely this will go through. Palace will now push on with signing some replacements. As I said Franca is a done deal, Gray we are in advanced negotiations & don’t rule out a late move for CHO from Chelsea even though he is in advanced talks with Lazio. You can blame me all you like but everything I pass on is in good faith. Bring it on. Thanks Dazza, I personally am sure you're acting in good faith and keep it going! The transfer season is hotting up! If Wilf moves to Turkey, good luck to him and his young family. Palace will have his contract money to spend elsewhere. As for Olise, he's a wonderful player, and would be a great loss. But if we got him for £8m and he's leaving for £35 + that's a massive profit. I guess it will mean that will be more talented young players coming in, but Roy and Ray will mould the team together. We seem to be doing a Brighton despite ourselves!

Still plenty of attacking midfield options out there in the Championship. Jack Harrison, Jack Clarke, Alex Scott, Luis Sinisterra, Wilfried Gnonto....

Losing Olise would be a disaster, that's a special player that's only going to get better. I was told on here that his release clause had been released, but I couldn't help but think that if true it would be wider known....why keep something like that quiet. Losing Zaha, is a mixed blessing.....personally I think he's making a mistake moving to Turkey but I won't lose any sleep over it. However both going is a lot of attacking talent out of the team and it's taking that talent quite late. You don't sign top talent in a week or two, buying serious talent isn't easy unless you have Man City's fortunes. Let's hope that developments end positively for us and that our current nervous mood isn't compounded.

It was Parish's favourite mouthpiece media that said that the release clause had been removed but subsequently they became rather vague on the subject

The seems to be a lot of naivety on some of the posts, if Olise has a release clause then he will go, if matched, dont forget we bought him for 8m by releasing his clause, we have made a 30m profit which needs to be reinvested, we also have Rak-Sakyi who is going to be top class, if he isn't ready, loan someone for a year, its the way of the world, we dont have to sell, Eze, Doucoure, Andersen or Guehi if we dont want to, unless their is other release clauses we dont know about, it doesn't matter who leaves what is more important is who replaces them.

My theory on what has been going on. - The board decided that any transfer budget would have to be self financing. - Parish tried to get a good younger manager but couldn't deliver on the transfer budget so decided Roy was the best bet for the club. - Zaha agreed a deal with the club on the condition that Palace actually matched his ambition so he held off from signing waiting to see what we would do. - It became clear that this transfer window is not about us strengthening the squad but trying to hang on to our better players. - Gala is the best offer Zaha gets so he's decided to accept it rather than sign with us due to our lack of urgency over acquisitions. - A good window for us will be hanging on to our stars. Just my theory.

You are wrong, do you think Olise is the only decent left footed right winger in the world, he is a top player, but if he has a release clause, and wants to leave, what do you do, lock him in a cupboard?

I am with you on this Stirling. It is worrying isn't it....we know that if Olise goes that Eze will start to wonder why should he stay at a selling club. Losing Zaha at this stage we could cope with but losing another or two of those proven stars would probably send us down. The big clubs are after us. Some people find the money exciting but I remember that losing Ian Wright basically sent the club into a spiral.....just as Venables leaving for QPR and taking players ended the 'team of the eighties' and what could have been.
