I don’t know the reason but there aren’t many Asians are on Palace’s books either.

I suspect that's historical. It's cricket, not football, which is the big sport in India and pakistan, so in the culture. Maybe that will change in time.

Or to put it in media-speak. Rafiq was front page news a week ago.
His 'story' has been dropped like a hot potato in light of his previous actions being exposed.

I disengage, I turn the page.

You post that like there was ever any doubt as to what the outcome would be.

Cricket relies on sponsorship and sponsors are spineless money orientated sheep.

This is not a trial to discover what is true, just an exercise in appearances. It is about the power of money and the fear of losing your livelihood and reputation. It is about politicians looking like they care about racism

The truth never mattered, just like it doesn't matter to you.

I am right, persecution for beliefs isn't acceptable first, second or third. The fact that you are willing to accept it over bs conceptual that can never be squarely enforced shows just how dangerous your nonsense is.

Are your stats on south Asians even proportionally correct? More south Asians have joined IS than the British Army? Perhaps you should get out of your incredibly white Cornwall and ask them what the answers are.....perhaps swap your Cornwall for Oldham and give them a leg up.

Besides do you go around asking why a far higher percentage of non whites are playing in the England team than is representative for England?

Why not? Surely you're not a hypocrite to only focus one way.

I think we need to agree to disagree.

If the desired cultural change is achieved, then any chance of "persecution" disappears. I think anyway that there is now a growing recognition that individuals immersed in a culture cannot
be held responsible for that culture. This is down to all of us, collectively. So, whilst some individuals might have been unfairly singled out to wear a hair coat for a while, that likelihood is decreasing.

Why you think ISIS recruitment has any relevance to cricket in Yorkshire beats me. Almost as much as why me living in Cornwall does. But let me tell you something. Having lived in Wisbech myself for more than a decade, I saw fewer Asian people there than I do here in Truro.

I also don't know why you are introducing the football team into the argument! I don't have the stats, but I get the sense that not too many Asians play football. Cricket is their sport of choice. The stats on the situation in Yorkshire I heard immediately after the Rafiq testimony. I cannot find it now, but these pieces tell the story. The first is from 2020, before the Rafiq story broke:-

It is probably because they are not very good at it.

Of course the implication of your statement: "it is the belief that matters. Not whether it is openly stated." is that you would consider someone racist without them actually expressing any racism if you harboured a belief that they thought racist thoughts.
But it is of course pointless debating this with you, Orwell, as usual, helps:
“What can you do, thought Winston, against the lunatic who gives your arguments a fair hearing and then simply persists in his lunacy?” [1984]

What anyone thinks is their business. It's only what they do that matters. If they harbour racist thoughts but don't express, or act on them, then firstly no-one will know, and secondly it doesn't matter.

So thoughts are irrelevant. Beliefs, when acted upon, are relevant.

Not, I suspect, you will appreciate the difference, given your previous posts.

Is there any logical reason why not?

Good footballers seem to come in all sizes.

Sure, but they seem to prefer supermodels.

It’s possible but there are a lot of kids who’ve grown up in London playing football in the past 40 years. Whatever the reason all I’m saying is it’s probably not due to discrimination on the club’s part.

I am confident that the club doesn't discriminate. Indeed, I would be confident about professional football in general. This seems to be cricket's problem.

It would be interesting to know just what proportion of Asian youth play football after their school years, and whether there is a hidden problem at amateur level.

It's about racism, something you have a lot of experience in.
