Povetkin in line for another world title fight. Don’t see the attraction for him to fight Whyte, he was put down twice in the 4th. Not like it was a moody score card, he sparked him out. He’s 40, so needs to get his title shot a bit lively. Whyte will need to beat a couple of goodend a to get back in contention, don’t think he’s at the top top level, think he would be a schooled by Usyk and even have trouble with Dubois. Do like him though. Game as f*ck.

I agree for the most part, but in this covid climate where the idea of big stadium fights is a pipe dream, it probably increases the likelihood of a rematch or some other second tier tear-up.

In many ways the rematch will have more interest than lasts night as things didn’t go to plan for the home fighter. Some great fights to be made

Whyte's boxing ability has improved considerably however this has appeared to be inversely proportional to his punch resistance.

It only takes a second to get distracted enough to allow the 'lights-out' punch from your opponent. I reckon Povetkin will do Whyte again.

And the re-match clause. I know why it's there, to give stability to the boxing divisions.

One for the future. He’s 21 years old, former amateur champ and 9 and 0 as a pro. Slaps like a young Joe C and looks susceptible to a straight punch but very aggressive with super fast hands.

Some great fights to be made I wonder if there was anything in the contract that stated where the rematch has to take place. If I was Povetkin I would drag Whyte over to Russia for the rematch... Although not sure that would make sense financially. Personally I think Povetkin does it again no matter where the fight is. I know its an old cliche saying styles make fights but they really do and Whytes aggressive, coming forward style suits Povetkin down to the ground as he's a master at creating angles for himself to get off those big punches as we saw on Saturday.

Just watched the first round of Hearns v Hagler. The best first , probably any, round of boxing ever?

AJ v Pulev now confirmed for 2nd of Dec at 02 Always thought Pulev to be a decent fighter although a little one paced. Think 2 years ago AJ would have knocked him out within 6 rounds, however it would surprise me if he shows more caution now. Reckon AJ either late or on points.

Del Boy v Usyk This a Saturday night. Really hope Derick comes to fight. Will be interesting to see how Usyk copes with real heavyweights. Brilliant boxer who I expect to win comfortably on points. Great addition to the heavyweight scene.
