I don't know if you could classify him as the best ever player we've had, but from my distant youth the player that sticks in my memory as being something special is John Jackson - I think even a better goalie than Nigel Martyn. PS: If you are reminising about old times at Palace, check out this link:

Even though we've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with him since he left (and even when he was playing for us if anyone else remembers when he stuck 2 fingers up at us at Shrewsbury) it has to be IAN WRIGHT. Pure class in almost every game he played in.
I remember when I was a kid bunking over the wall at Palace home games.........trouble was the old bill always caught me and threw me back in. |

A vey tough one. We have had some brilliant and exciting players over the years. Jim Cannon is my choice, but there a few others hot on his heals.. Ian Wright
A new era of total football is on the way to Selhurst Park!! |

This has had me thinking for ages, but cannot just pick just the one, if you think over the years we have had some great players. Taylor, Harkouk, Evans, Sansom, Cannon, Gilbert, Nicholas, Hilaire, Martyn, Thorn, Young, Thomas, Wright, Bright, Lombardo, Jansen, Dougie I see some mention John Jackson, I never saw him play for us, but I remember being a small boy being taken to Orient when Venables team of the eighties needed to win, he tried his best to stop us, but when he was finally beaten! (took long enough) right in front of us, he looked as happy as all of us, that has always stuck in my mind
