Seems to be more harmonious than much of England ? Many nationalities and religions don't seem to have too many problems living together.

That could be because the US is made up entirely of foreigners And a lot of them like to stay as foreigners too. Joe Biden's family have been there for 170 years, when he was only middle aged, and he still thinks he's as Irish as Paddy's pig despite his family coming from Sussex.

Ironically 1) most irish really are not bothered for 32 counties and 2) many of these Provo Presidents are themselves Protestants.....Reagan, Obama, Clinton. Joe Biden is a Catholic in the John Paul II flavour. getting back to the OP, Manchester Scenes...... Can we get airports to filter customers according to any previous criminal convictions ? ie Bad-boys get extra security gates and all that. It must be easy to tie in Passport data with Home Office data ?

I think airlines can ban problematic 'customers'. They can do that, because they are a commercial entity , and they make the rules. they can always cite the coverall "aircraft safety" to keep people out.

I always get stopped as I'm quite brown with brown eyes and have a beard. Always. Although there are never any checks at all in the UK - once during Covid for certs and that's it.

Just seen the film of what happened at Manchester Airport. People complaining about the police need a reality check.

not just terrorism, airports could surely electronically flag customers with previous convictions, troublesome drunks, and even shoplifters. You know, like the riot that happened at a rollercoaster when some bad-boys wanted to jump the queue. it might make the airport experience a bit easier for all the rest of us. Shorter queues and less luggage rummaging for us. Certainly all the drunken fights on Ryanair, that could be punished by airports too. Fv.ck the human rights of troublemakers. Next time, they can swim to Lanzarote. Edited by PalazioVecchio (28 Jul 2024 1.15pm)

The fellas involved also need nicking for GBH on the plod. Penny dropping that not saying anything will inflame it more as it appears any one but those types are wrong.

Andy Burnham said that no one has the full picture, the first attack on police looks very bad,we will have to see what comes out of the enquiry.

It was disgusting to see the one sided video clip get all the wrong publicity. A policewoman's nose was broken in the early skirmishes and, frankly, I hope the copper with the heavy boots is allowed back on duty. Thugs these days need tough policing and those on the force whose job it is to keep us safe, have to be tough or tougher than the criminals who are impervious to namby-pamby methods.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

American police would shoot those thugs dead. It's time we took a similar approach.
