Agree, always looked like a talented player, very Wilf like, but Watfords asking price was always way over the top. I always thought he was overated because he never seemed to play that well when I saw him against us. Looks very quick when seeing him on Youtube and can play on left, right, no.10 and up front so for €15m it's a no brainer!

I'm not convinced exactly how good he is, but he's not a dud. Would probably suit our style of play. Dougie sees something in him. So give them what they paid - approx.

Maybe he will be played up top as a sub. He has the attributes. If he can play across the front he also fits the swapping places during that game that we favour.

He seems Wilf like with a bit of the Bolasie chaos factor added. If so then he sounds an ideal Palace forward. For the fans anyway. from his time at Watford i don't remember him grafting back and pressuring defenders in the same way Wilf and Bolaise did and i think this is why he is not in the super expensive bracket.

Is the price on transfermarkt (reliable?) so anything less than that would be good value v market rate. I also am disappointed probably due to the fact that my due diligence on him is restricted to the same performances you judge him on (and for Senegal) where he was no more than OK. I suppose if he had lit up the Prem, AFCON and the World Cup, only Real or Man City could afford him.

As long as his salary isn't outrageous, this seems a pretty low risk high reward option. His pace could be very useful as a sub coming on against tiring teams. Many more goals were scored last season as games lengthened. Certainly a better option than Schlupp or Ayew for this scenario It might mean Rak-Sayki leaving permanently, though

Whenever I’ve seen him he’s looked too lightweight for the Premier League. I’m not saying he’s not good enough, just needs to bulk up a bit. A one year loan deal would be far preferable to selling him cheap now and I hope he sees it that way. Hopefully both the management and the player see him having a future with Palace.

Hopefully both the management and the player see him having a future with Palace. Why has JRS got to 'toughen up', 'bulk up' & why is he 'too lightweight' for the EPL? What is your ideal player then? JRS has guile, skill, speed & balance. I do agree that he needs more 'Experience'. Can't all be built like JPM can they?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
