Not being acquainted with the qualities of Jobe Bellingham I sought advice from a learned gentleman. He asserted that the player was a striker at youth level but his favourite position is as a box-to-box midfielder which is where he sees his future lies.I was also informed that he played in a few positions last season.

Rest assured the information was NOT obtained from that source, hence why I asserted "Learned gentleman". Edited by Willo (29 Jun 2024 8.08am)

My "Learned gentleman" made no reference to any article whatsoever. He reeled off the details to me in quick fashion and I was grateful for the information. Edited by Willo (29 Jun 2024 9.18am)

Well, my ‘learned gentleman’ tells me ‘I’ve seen milk turn quicker.’ There are very mixed views of him on the Sunderland fans’ forum, the ‘milk’ comment is one of a number that mention he is ‘slow.’ But there are others who recognise he has great potential, especially with the right coaching. Generally I’m inclined to the view that if Dougie thinks he’s OK for us then he is. In Dougie we trust.

Does anyone have any idea as to why he might be a tad overrated?
