Can't have this thread without mentioning Wright and Bright.

Bright:
Paid 75k, sold for 1.3m, 91 goals

Wright:
Paid 1 set of weight lifting equipment, sold for 2.5m, 117 goals

There is so much to say about each of them but perhaps the most interesting is comparing what we witnessed with our exciting forward line just recently to what Wrighty and Brighty did for us back in the late eighties.

Just realised the OP was since Parish but hey ho, it's worth a mention.

Obviously this is a CPFC2010 thread so before their time.

Did we even pay that for Wright? When we signed him i don't think he had a club. It is often reported he signed from Greenwich Boro but my understanding is he was playing Sunday football and was on trial with Greenwich when they played a pre-season friendly at Dulwich and was spotted by Palace.

IMHO the best ever non league signing, not just for Palace but across all clubs. Others get mentioned such as Vardy, Ferdinand and Pearce who all went on to play for England but all involved transfer fees etc.
