Kindly don't go for a dip in the Thames TE.

We would no longer be reading your posts.

Appreciate the concern Steeleye but I haven't been for a dip for about 30 years and where I live now the "beach" is radioactive to some degree (the MoD buried some dodgy stuff there in the Fifties) so that's not likely to change. I've checked the locals for any resultant super powers but the evidence is slight at best.

All out of principle....indeed. All above board just as presented.

I'm surprised at you.

I don't think either are covered in glory but there are clear differences between them and one of them at least worked in the NHS and knows what he is talking about.

Is Elphicke standing down?

She obviously doesn't have very high morals or loyalty to either her collegues, her former party or what she believes in!!

Thank goodness we're not all like her otherwise we'd be at the Amex next week filling up all their empty seats!!

Neither spring to mind with the Tory Party.

Since she is apparently stepping down, I am wondering if this is a Tory plot to make Starmer look like an unprincipled muppet.

On second thoughts, they don't really need to, although, a large chunk of the electorate is totally thick and might need a heads up.

If she is stepping down then I stand corrected. Not much between them.

On a Tory plot I fear you give them far too much credit.

Hmmm. Some of them look like they couldn't take a crap without a manual.

She's obviously prone to change her mind.

And in this lays the key to what comes next.

I know I am a bore about this but I am utterly convinced the entire point of this Tory implosion is the desire of the Deep State to take us back into the EU.

And I believe this will be sold in an almost Orwellian double thing campaign that the ONLY way to control immigration is by us rejoining and then being part of a continent-wide crackdown.

With this utterly bizarre 'defection' part of the mind tricks around that.

This woman is an appalling, unprincipled populist who has shifted from the right of the Tories to Labour given the current direction of the wind.

Labour have embraced her for political reasons but should not touch her with a rusty pole once she is in place. I know politicians are, in general, an awful lot, but this woman is the bottom scrapings of a very rotten barrel.

Agreed.
She has been promised something though and it may be a while until it becomes apparent.
