I think all highlights of all games felt rushed last night. No Match had a great amount of time spent on them, the highligts were short and none had a 'full analysis', instead maybe picking up on one point per team.

I presume it's something to do with the midweek edition, and the late kick offs.

This. Plus, again it was the order I expected. The Merseyside derby was always going to be the no. 1 game and the Manure game was more interesting as Manure had to come from behind twice.

You must admit though, putting Tuesdays Arsenal vs. Chelsea game before us was a bit maverick. I thought they always showed 'yesterdays' games at the end, and prioritised that days matches.

Ain’t that the truth, they miss out a lot of goalscoring chances, which is even more bizarre when they show a chance in their analysis that they don’t actually show in the highlights

Which surely crushes the theory that they base their punditry on the same edited highlights that 'we' see.

to answer the OP, i would pose a question.....

does the BBC have a disproportionate number of Brighton fans in its backroom staff ?

I don't know, but television generally has many, many people who (let's say) you wouldn't be surprised to hear had 'Brighton tendencies'. And lest anyone should accuse me of unfounded stereotypification; I used to work for a TV company and one of my daughters now works in TV. Let's just say you'd think twice about picking up a fiver if you dropped it in the cloakroom!

Bizarre coverage again, they completely missed two Mateta chances and generally made the game look more even than it was, but then show the chances in the analysis afterwards, strange!!

Completely agree.

Shows the power of editing - made the game look quite even when in reality we were great. Did not show one shot in the first half when we had nine.

Its why I tend not to watch MOTD any more, 3 mins of highlights gives you no understanding of the game

I think there's a marked difference between the week-end editions of MOTD and the midweek. The week- editions have several hours in which to do the analysis of the afternoon and early evening matches whereas the midweek ones have barely any time to edit and analyse the evening games and, therefore tend to be of a poorer quality.

Also, when pundits are talking about particular players in their analysis, it's inevitable that they will need to include some clips from the game that hadn't been shown in the highlights.

In the past it often seemed that the order of games was dictated by how many goals were scored (which explained why we were often near the end). When was the last time you saw a cracking 0-0 game on first? Get rid of the misery and poach Clinton Morrison from Sky.

become preachy and holier-than-thou about Climate change, LGBTQ , and all the other usual stuff

Yet more.

Give it a rest and leave the politics out of it; you're obsessed. For God's sake.
