I'm a very pessimistic Palace fan due to over 50 years of ups and (mostly) downs and was at Highbury when Oldham won and sent us down, but we're safe already and cannot see us getting less than 5 points from the remaining fixtures if we keep Michael and Ebs fit and think we may hit the 40 point mark. In other words I'd stick a few quid on at 200/1 if were you !!

The big unknown is the FFP appeals but I'd imagine that the loser of Everton v Forest on Sunday will be feeling very, very nervous. We still need more points, this points total isn't enough, but I'd expect our next 3 games to be able to generate at least a couple of points by which time those that are really in trouble could have imploded themselves into not being able to catch us.

I'm hoping that the pressure is slightly off now and we should see a difference in performances, namely more ambitious and confident ones that might rack us up a few more points, getting us closer to 40+.... I'm hoping COYP in any instance. My entire being as a Palace fan has changed following the Anfield result! You and 99% of posters on here Nicholas, and probably the same percentage for all CP fans.

That’s one big positive of supporting our club - 8 months of anxiety and despair then one win and we’re all happy. Arsenal fans have 8 months of hope and expectation then in four days it’s all washed down the toilet

I would bet that the club finishing 18th, won't have the same points tally as we do now.. so I would say we are safe, however, I want us to finish as strong as possible and continue the progress under OG. Luton have 5 games left, they cannot lose a match, they need at worse 3 wins and 2 loses hoping we pick nothing up.. will that happen folks? Unlikely...

if Luton lose to Brentford, Luton will never catch us. if Luton draw......Luton will never catch us. if Luton win......they can only catch us with an Oldham style miracle.

They can get to 40 points. Forest can get to 41. that means they have to both beat Everton but even if they do Everton can still get to 39. Currently even Burnley can catch us if they win every game. That means they have to beat forest but even then forest can get 38 points! Its not over until the fat lady sings! The earliest she can sing would be the Newcastle game.

Edited by Jacey (20 Apr 2024 11.32am) the only way i see Luton staying up ? that would be the FA deciding to crucify Everton on the last day of the season.....deducting another dozen points and sending the Toffees hurtling down to the Championship sweetshop. so, if i was a Luton fan, i would need to see my team playing hard to stay above Burnley.
