It can be difficult to compare like to like. If you are the biggest club in the world you can explain to CEO candidates that you don't need to pay the highest salary as so many people want the prestige of the job. Likewise I can imagine a CEO saying why would I want to run Luton or Millwall? So you may have to incentivise the role. What Parish might say is that we have stayed in the top flight for the longest period ever under his stewardship. I believe that over the same period most of the other clubs promoted have been relegated at least once.* *Bar anyone just coming up. I get that, but there is an obvious counter. Bigger club, more pressure, more skills needed, smaller talent pool etc. I suspect this might have something to do with being an owner and day to day runner. SP would be making more than say Brentford (£229k) in his day job, and partly owns the club, so would (rightly so) feel like he needs significantly more cash. Compared to some of hte CEO's (which I'm guessing are more ceremonial roles), Steve is very hands on, and in the weeds. But the real question. Would that £2.6m be better off spend elsewhere....

All valid points, like I said it can be difficult to compare like with like. Would we be better off is a moot point, until it happens we can't possibly know but I have had my fill of dodgy owners and directors at Palace so better the devil...

There has been a lot of discussion / speculation about the level of Parish's earnings but in the cold light of day Palace is a privately owned company and his earnings are none of our business much as my own earnings from my own company are none of anyone else's business

Yep agree, in this game £2m is nothing. Parish is broadly doing a good job. I've got tonnes of optimism or next season. Would be good to get a couple of wins on the board this week and start planning early.
