Spooky or what...has anyone else noticed that OG’s previous role with F’furt are also 🦅’s. Did it influence his or SP’s decision, I wonder?

SP: “I see from your CV Ollie, you’ve managed Eagles before. The job is yours! “

So we can expect him to be loyal to the shirt....one hopes!

Just throwing this out there -
Fitness - to be able to be on it for 105 minutes.

What would probably be interesting info would be to be able to see where we have lost games in the last 15 minutes because we were lower in fitness levels that the opposition as opposed to those games that we lost on the final 15 minutes where the opposition had a much stronger bench than us & brought on players to turn the game in their favour that we couldn't match the skill set or intensity.

The opposition tends to use all their 5 subs while we on average use only two to three subs. We have a small squad and with injuries we lack a game changing bench.

My advice is don't visit any betting shops.

1. Not a problem as I don't bet
2. I didn't say he would just that he'd love to, just as he'd love to regain all the lost countries that comprised the USSR.

Although you make a good point and is probably part of it, you can visibly see us struggling late in games, basically we look knackered, and when you’re struggling physically, you lose that sharpness of mind and your concentration goes

I would agree with Robbo though , its the sitting back that makes us tired . When the other side has the ball and you're chasing shadows it's more tiring than keeping possession yourself .

So on that note Im expecting more possession . His style to date would indicate the width will come from the full backs so Im also expecting the end of us playing wingers . Maybe not replacing Zaha was always the plan and Glasner has been lined up for some time

Our attacking options suddenly look half decent with a narrow front three and runners from the midfield .The players we have brought in the last years (Ahamada ,Lerma ,Franca and Watson ) certainly fit a Glasner style more than Roys .

The cunning plan has been exposed , lets hope its worth it

The Athletic is reporting that McCarthy and Kiley are remaining in the first team coaching setup.
It provides some continuity for the rest of the season but means it will be a crowded bench if Glasner is also bringing in three of his own people.
You could see McCarthy departing at the end of the season to cut his managerial teeth at a lower level elsewhere.
The rumour is that Eze and Guehi are not quite ready for Burnley, so we may see a similar team to the Everton game.

PS Glasner is not a NAZI

Just to carry it on.

Now we know why Glasner didn't go to Tottenham.

Part of it (and talking about personal amateur football experience granted) it having a player or 2, or someone on the side pulling the team up.

Its human nature to sink back and protect.

I cant remember seeing Roy on the side bellowing at players to push up, nor do we have a vocal on pitch captain.

Well, I'd love to shag Ana de Armas.

Regardless all that is fear mongering to justify the decisions they have taken. Russia doesn't have the population size required to hold down its old empire, which would involve 'official' war with Nato anyway. Even as it is looking at the economy it can sustain war for about another two and a half years. However, it intends to fight no longer than a year by the looks of things.

Anyway, in the spirit of Russiaphobia and the reds coming over the hills.

IMO the late goals aren't due to lack of fitness. Its mentality.

The players are broken mentally, and are so desperate not to lose, that they forget what makes them a good team. Against Everton we sat deep immediately after the goal, that's not tiredness. If we sit and defend for the last 20 mins of every game we are likely to concede

Fitness comes both as being mentally fit and physically fit. I agree the players look broken and lack that positivity and self belief to see out a game. But that's Hodgson for you, talking up the opposition, talking down his own players, repetitive training ground drills, negative defence minded tactics - ultimately thank the lord he's gone. I expect some positivity here on in.

Unrealistic to expect a sudden transformation but what I do expect to see is much better man management, a greater and earlier use of subs to guard against our weakness of conceding late goals and tuition into holding the ball as opposed to our 'get rid of it quick even to a marked player'

If he can, as he is alleged to have stated, make better use of our less skilled players and bring on the talent from the youngsters we will all be very happy about his arrival.

Theres a lot that can go right and wrong between now and the end of the season. If you break it down I'd say..
1. Stay up
2. Try to finish strongly
3. Start playing some attractive ruthless attacking football.

If those three targets can all be achieved by the end of the season I'm betting we will only be selling if it suits us to do so in the summer. Our players will all be intrigued to see how far Glasner will be able to take us with a good preseason behind them.

Top no.1 Priority has got to be staying in the division. Nothing can move forward until thats achieved.
