What on earth is the point in this post?

What?

It's obvious: insulting language like that to a manager who is the epitome of gentlemanly conduct and has served the club so well is low, well low. One can, of course, give your opinion of the way the team is managed but language like that?

I take great pleasure in singling out this example.

The point? If you can't understand it, then me explaining will not help you one jot, will it.

We shout that to refs and opposing players every game ! Not the Roy bit obs as that would be weird

I don't need you to tell me to lighten up, thanks.

Ok, I'll explain it to you.

If you think that it's ok to slag of Mr Hodgson like that because, after all, that's the sort of language we throw at referees during a match, I'm surprised, my friend.

Mr Hodgson isn't a ref, isn't one of the opposition team, he's one of our own, a manager who has served us fantastically during his time at Selhurst and deserves to be treated with respect. A bit obs if you ask me.

You think that's out of order?

I did think as much but struggled to come to terms with that being a reality.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Oh dear.

Sit down and have a glass of water, mate.

I'm afraid it is a reality.

I already am sitting and have a glass of water, thank you for the suggestion though. It's not helping for clarity on the benefits of belittling and scorning other posters on a football forum however.

But it's ok to slag off Mr Hodgson in those terms, is it?

I've called the poster out. Yes.

If someone expresses an opinion and their reasons for it, fine: they're entitled to it, even if I disagree, but this is different.

Mr Hodgson, whatever you may think of his tactics, deserves respect.

I hope that offers some clarity.

And me too; some of the utterings have been utterly disrespectful especially given the hand he was dealt vis a vis squad size, incoming transfers, injuries etc.

It will be interesting to see how much better Glasner does over the next 13 games so it can all be put in some perspective. Lets hope its positive and Palace quickly move beyond the 40 point mark and into calmer waters.

With you on this 100%. This Internationally recognised gentleman of football will be made very welcome any time at Selhurst Park make no mistake.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Personally I’m glad he has gone mostly so I don’t have to listen to the bleating of those who thought he was doing a good job. He wasn’t doing a good job at all, his plan a was failing miserably and he was struggling to come up with a plan b with the squad he had available. Those supporting his stale tactics came up with every excuse under the sun to try and justify that he was the man for us.

Apparently at his interview, Glasner came fully tooled up with several alternative set ups and team selections to show how he could make an immediate impact. That is the sort of manager we need.

Goodbye Roy, thanks for saving us first time around but enough was enough so now go and enjoy your retirement.

And absolutely nothing wrong with expressing your opinion, which you're entitled to, of course.

You've written your point of view without resorting to language that the other poster has used.

You see, Nicholas? I'm not belittling or scorning Eaglecoops.

Did anyone else see Roy on tv yesterday? ... he was interviewed at Royal Ascot. He looked relaxed and very well. Has been recuperating in Barbados. Good on yer Roy ... now enjoy your retirement.
