Textor interviewed Glasner for Lyon in September 2023, for whatever reason Glasner declined the offer & Lyon have employed 2 new managers since then - Whilst its clear there was a link between the 2 parties, and for sure its entirely possible that Textor recommended Glasner based upon being impressed when he interviewed him, but does that then follow that Textor is calling the shots & as Lando suggests leave Parish as a puppet ? To me - its a stretch, personally I think, Textor threw his toys out of the pram several months ago when it became clear he wasnt being involved as much as he would like & the voting structure left him almost completely on the outside looking in, the club has since then been more agreeable to him implementing some of his ideas given that after all he has the majority shares (even if he dosent have the voting rights) this led to the O Brien transfer, the Franca buy & maybe even more recently this Glasner appointment, as I said before come the end of the season this whole 25% per person voting arrangement will probably be reviewed in favour of something more representative of acting shareholding & then we may well see Textor flexing his muscles more, where that then leaves SP who knows.

I think in SP's perfect world he would have overseen the completion of the stadium redevelopment and then looked to exit. As it is I think the nearest he will get to that is to be in his current role when work commences. He will be 60 next year and I forsee him wanting to leave at that time. If that was to happen then I think Harris and Blitzer would look to get out too. That could leave Textor in a position to buy Palace outright if he can raise the funds. Pure speculation on my part obviously.

Hi Neillo - Presumably if Textor wants to increase his shareholding the 10% that SP has in his pocket would be the obvious way to go (rather than fighting H & B for their shares, unless they want out then its a lot of money for Textor to raise) - At that point Textor has a clear decision to make - Employ SP as MD to look after the day to day stuff (if SP would agree to become an employee) or he puts his own man in the chair. Well if he is its time to get serious . His man is lined up to be the next manager so one would think he is going to back him with getting some players in that he would naturally want to play his style of football . Its going to be an interesting summer

Well the answer to this thread is NO. JT has just said so himself that SP runs the club.

I've never been enamoured by Textor particularly on account of multi ownership. However I found the interview enlightening. It was probably polished but doubtless there were some truths there.

An interesting read. Aspects of it I completely agree with but his comments right at the end about how wonderful American sport is does sort of confirm my long held scepticism about American owners and their fundamental lack of understanding of what makes football special.
