This is a very disturbing development as far as you are concerned.
Being of same mind as me is cause for concern !!!

My suggestion would be to appoint Paddy as interim manager for the rest of the season. Assisting him Darren Moore who had some success with Sheffield Wednesday, Doncaster Rovers and WBA in the EPL. This would give Moore the opportunity to get his name back in lights for another stint as a manager probably in the Championship. His Jamaican heritage and experience coaching younger players would certainly help with the palace squad.
Finally, as mentor to Paddy, Sam Allardyce. Sam does not want nor need the stresses of being a Premier League manager again. However his experience with this situation, his grasp of technology and contacts in the game would certainly be useful for the management tea watching from the stands.

Brilliant idea.

A man who has never managed, and a man who has been quickly sacked from every job he has had.

Get a grip.

Not quite true. Doncaster released Moore for compensation from Sheffield Wednesday. He left Wednesday at the end of his contract having won them promotion and negotiations for a new contract broke down. It’s worth remembering that Roy has left many of his jobs under a cloud either being sacked, leaving ‘by mutual consent’ or walking out when the results were bad.
As for Paddy, assistants are often promoted as interim managers when a suitable candidate for the main post is not readily available. At least Paddy has been coaching the some of the forwards especially Ayew who is having his best season for assists since joining.

There are of course numerous examples over the years.
The ones more recently which have entered my mind :

Man Utd - Michael Carrick Interim after Solskjaer appointed and before Rangnick was appointed.
A.Villa - Aaron Danks Interim after Gerrard departed and before Emery was appointed.
Everton - Duncan Ferguson Interim after Benitez departed and Lampard was appointed.
Leicester - Sadler and Stowell Interims after Rodgers departed and Dean Smith was appointed.

Moore has no experience at this level.

I'd rather rehire Alan Pardew.

We need someone who a bunch of cocky self assured players respect. That will be a quality ex player with a good management record or a very respected coach.

Need to appoint Cooper immediately.
Even if he fails to keep us up,he has the experience and knowledge to excel in the Championship.
Roy is well past his sell by date,is leaving us at season end,so we should bring his retirement date forward to give us the best opportunity.

With Hodgson needing to either step down or be relieved of his duties after the dismal recent performances I've put together a small list of just some of the managers who are currently without a club. Palace obviously is not a very attractive looking club for anyone to manage at the moment, but surely at least one of these managers would want to be up to the task. Just interested in everyones thoughts.

Graham Potter
Frank Lampard
Jose Mourinho
Hansi Flick
Antonio Conte
Steve Cooper
Sam Allardyce
Javi Gracia
Ralph Hassenhuttl
Jesse Marsch
Andre Villas-Boas
Lucien Favre
Laurent Blanc
Chris Hughton
Paul Heckingbottom
Claude Puel
Steve Bruce
Roy Keane
Rafa Benitez
Julen Lopetegui
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

I'm not convinced they are the only managers available. That being said, if it was to be a manager from this list you could filter them down quite a bit.

First of all get rid of former managers as we don't want to go backwards. And one of them is a complete w***er.

Sam Allardyce
Steve Bruce

Next you can get rid of the managers who are patently completely unrealistic.

Jose Mourinho
Antonio Conte

Then you can get rid of the dross.

Frank Lampard
Jesse Marsch
Roy Keane
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Then there's the people on the list who are actually employed elsewhere.

Andre Villas-Boas
Rafa Benitez

Anyone who isn't going to put up with our transfer strategy having previously managed big spending clubs.

Hansi Flick
Graham Potter
Lucien Favre
Laurent Blanc
Julen Lopetegui

Not progressive enough / game has left them behind.

Chris Hughton
Claude Puel

And you're left with a fairly uninspiring list.

Steve Cooper
Javi Gracia
Ralph Hassenhuttl
Paul Heckingbottom.

Would definitely take Cooper. Wouldn't mind Gracia on an 18 month deal.

I love that you have given this some proper thought. It is a bit depressing though.

Pretty good analysis. I'd go with Cooper too, if he'll come...

Maybe people are starting to understand the challenge that Parish has had not only now, but last summer.

Not at all inspired by Cooper - he was sacked by a lower club than ours. Many things have been said - that he is good at this and that, but not proven in the facts.

Might be that a totally left field option - as has been successful at some other clubs is the best solution.
