Chelsea are 0-2 up at villa and villa are fielding a very strong side.

Let’s hope villa claw there way back, take it to extra time, really tight and stressful game which Chelsea lose on penalties and it knocks the stuffing out of them. They are knackered and heads down as it’s the end of any chance of silverware.
If they get a few knocks along the way to key players, even better.

We will have had a nice long break. May just give us a chance.

Here’s hoping.

I guess we can all dream but with or without Roy as our manager they have far superior players and will almost certainly beat us but no doubt the blame will be put firmly on the shoulders of our manager and claims will be made that with a new manager it would have turned out differently . COYP

There may well be some who will say that. Despite my desire to see Hodgson go, I'm not one of them. What would probably be different with a new manager is how we are set up and the payers chosen to play. Whether that would lead to better results, I simply don't know but I would at least hope we would see a team playing more on the front foot.

Should use the Chelsea game to bed in players for the upcoming Everton & Burnley fixtures. Setting up for Royball 0-0 is a busted flush the way we are playing at the moment. Losing every time we do does not seem to be dislodging Hodgson, which would otherwise be a happy outcome.

It was inevitable they would be back in form by the time they played us.

Valid point and all fans would prefer the front foot approach as long as it produces points but I would say where we are its points over style. Either way I am sure we all want to stay up playing attractive football but would deep down be happy if we survived playing Roy ball knowing change will come in a couple of months.COYP

We are the gift that all struggling sides circle for that elusive win. I’m not sure it makes any difference who we play right now!

We are capable of giving a winning performance but not worth offering a prediction until the team sheet is announced.and we see the first 10 minute of action!

Having seen Chelsea play away at Villa tonight in the FA Cup if we only lose 4-0 we will have done well with or without Roy. COYP

Seriously, if you were a young professional footballer, would doddery RH motivate you? A heavy defeat to Chelsea on Monday as things stand. That could change if a new manager and coach are appointed between now and then.

Which is why Roy will set us up not to concede .We wont give them the space that Villa did .
Our Problem under RH is and always has been the transition from defence to attack . We struggled badly when we were missing Zaha and to a lesser degree Townsend and we struggle now without Olise and Eze .
We need players that can get us up the pitch ,Munoz is apparently that type of player,Wharton can turn and pick a pass and even Franca has shown he is capable of that if little else .

It will be a tough game and probably a tough watch but its not beyond our side to get a result

I suspect it will be a front 3 of Ayew, Mateta and Schlupp.
That’s unlikely to cause Chelsea too many concerns .
Their midfield containing Gallagher, Fernandez and Caceido is full of bite and energy and is likely to overrun our pedestrian midfield.
Palmer is having an excellent season and is a threat across the front line.
They have lots of pace all over the field (assuming Silva doesn’t start).
The only way we win is if Hodgson causes a surprise in selection and tactics (unlikely) which catches Chelsea off guard, Chelsea have a real off day or we get lucky.
We don’t even have the robust, direct option a la Luton to unsettle them.
We don’t defend or attack well.

Looking back over our season so far I would say you could count good performances from us on one hand.
It doesn’t augur well for Monday.
