I have a ticket for the Arsenal game. I am looking forward to it, not with any great expectation of Palace causing a shock, but because, apart from my annual visit to the Amex, I haven't been to an away game for a long long time.

Great.

Hope you have a good time, Pete.

Hodgson's Press Conference soon, updates will be provided on BBC Sport website at least.

Thought it worth notifying but am not holding my breath for any revelations there...

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Not worth read tbf Nick, all the injured are still injured, Franca is still young & will have to wait his time, fans will cheer the team & Steve/Dougie are working hard behind the scene's to bring someone in. That's it in a nutshell.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I sent in a bit of moan to the BBC which they put on the thread.

What I should have included was a line to say that Roy is only the messenger and my ire was not aimed at him exclusively.

See link below from Roy’s presser ahead of the Arsenal game..

[Link]

So he says in relation to Franca and the younger players;

"If you’ve come here from Brazil like Franca, you’ve come here with dreams of taking the Premier League by storm. But he’s young. These players have to come to terms with the fact it’s not going to be easy coming into a Premier League side. Especially when we get everybody back from injury and the Afcon tournament, we have an experienced and strong side."

Now I could sort of understand the comment if the so called “experienced” players were delivering and we were getting good results - but they and we ain’t...!!??

So in the scenario if abject mediocrity ain’t working - then surely you look to freshen things up and add some youth, potential and unpredictability - or am I missing something..??

This is the root of the/our problem right here - Roy just doesn’t trust them - and stubbornly proceeds with selecting players mediocre at best - some proved over seasons of chances simply not good enough..!! But he refers to them as his “experienced players” - irrespective of how they perform..!!

Just don’t get it Roy - it’s broken, it ain’t working - change it..!!

But this is the same Roy that had England’s now record goal scorer taking corners in Euros 2016, said Roberto Carlos wasn’t good enough and turned down Haaland in favour of Ayew in 2018 - so should we be surprised - probably not..!!

Beyond all of that what message does that send to Franca, Ozoh etc.. All the time Roy’s in charge you basically ain’t going to get a chance irrespective of performances from “experienced players” and results - really..!!

This is simply why Roy has got to go..!!

I cannot muster the imagination let alone slightest belief but I do get a kick from others when they post such enthusiasm.

Despite all other matters, it’s a game of football at the end of the day, XI vs XI.

COYP!!!!!!!!!!!
