I've been a vocal critic of Roy, but this first 45 minutes has the marks of our win at Old Trafford, full of fight and commitment. It does beggar the question where this has been of late, but it does show the team are still playing for Roy. Liverpool playing like they just had to turn up.

Hughes looks much better in the Gallagher style role and has absolutely dominated Endo. It's so good to see us bully a team for once. Lerma really should have scored (Owen saying it's a world class save but it was right at Allisson?!!). The penalty was a foul, although if it was a clear error why did it take five minutes to decide that?

If we can keep this up then I don't think we can do much more as Liverpool have so much more quality, but with Olise on the bench...maybe, just maybe...

Great first half , cant remember Sam having to make a save yet . The bin dippers have had the best of the possession but we have hit the post and a pen ruled out the ref didnt think it was a foul but VAR persuaded him otherwise . The other end and the pen would have been given . Lermar and Hughes are well up for this game as is Jordan A. COYP .

With Roy apologising I think it’s clear behind the scenes they want to keep things as they are until the summer. Looking at the players reactions and the even more than usual enthusiasm from Ray Lewington something has gone on behind the scenes since Bournemouth defeat and it’s worked.

Back to basics for us, not entertaining but minimum I want to see is hard work and effort. That is evident today. Let’s hope we can get something from the game over the 2nd half

I very much doubt that. They target us for 3 points because we are one of the weaker teams in the league. To think otherwise is over estimating our own ability.
