Why did Palace sign Henderson?

This still irks me. Nottingham Forest bought the winger Elanga from United for £15m this past window, a position we sorely needed strengthening, whilst United replaced Henderson with the Turkish international no.1 Bayindir for just mere £4m.

I'd love to know what's truly gone on here, United probably couldn't believe their luck when we came wanting, with a twenty million cheque in hand.

Yes, I read that article. Could be someone taking the piss however it would be a totally Palace thing to do given we haven’t bought one since the last window.

I read the thread again this morning, and having been to the game yesterday with out him we would have not been in the game to come back and get the point, He was truly outstanding, made 5/6 amazing saves, I have changed my mind and think it was a good signing.

We signed him as he is excellent,we can easily sell him for more and is clearly the best GK cover we have ever had.He played yesterday did you not notice.

When quality becomes available and is possible to buy, you buy.

If the players we needed were available and willing to come to us we would have signed them.

20 million was a steal for Henderson and the high probability is he is a good signing and also earns money for the club.

At the time Johnstone was supposed to leaving to return north with his family. Might work out fine in the long run.

A possible conundrum for Roy. He might be able to mask it Thursday on the basis its too soon for Johnstone, although I sense he would play if Henderson was still injured.
I'm inclined to the view that Johnstone should play when fully fit, but accept Henderson played exceptionally well Saturday. My concern with Henderson is a nagging feeling he is never too far from another injury.

I think that was just speculation. If you’re that intent on returning north you don’t suddenly do a u-turn after your club sign a new goalkeeper for a lot of money, sign a new 3 year contract and move your family down here!
