Would you rather we survived in the PL, slowly developing our academy and a long term future or either get relegated or go bankrupt through overspending? Magic money trees don’t grow in South London and I for one don’t want them imported from anywhere else either. We have a lot more money then we are lead to belief. We just don’t spend it on what it is meant to be spent on. Like the pathetic main stand development which still hasn’t happened. 20 m on a very good goalkeeper but we were more desperate for a striker. Not to mention the fact that certain fans fall for parish making them belief there is a lot less money than there is to spend on players. His very good with PR. Makes you belief what he wants you to hear. Unfortunately there are some very gullible pepole.

It’s says it all that Jairo may have to start but it all depend if Edouard is fit. If OE is fit he will start left of front 3 with Schlupp in Eze’s position. Edited by EddieMac (03 Oct 2023 10.07pm)

Seems to me you are the gullible one in thinking you know better than the guy whose money it actually is. We can all spend someone else’s money. What is success this year? Staying in the league is the over-riding priority. Building up the funds so the development can go ahead comes next, and that means allowing our young stars to shine so when they get sold it’s for the maximum return. Then developing our own replacements or again spotting them elsewhere. This isn’t a sprint, it’s several marathons. The yo yo years are behind us. I started watching Palace when we were in the 3rd Division South and I can assure you that patience is both necessary and a virtue. Just enjoy the ride.

I predicted several weeks ago that EZE would pull a hamstring trying too hard to make up for a lack of teammates. This is Parish. Lack of players = more injuries = losses = loss of confidence = poorer performances = lessening of players market values = less money = excuses not to buy more players = less club success = good players not wanting to come = buying desperate players who will come = non delivery of performance = lack of players = more injuries….etc Parish isn’t as smart as some people think. They have little interest in ploughing huge amounts of money into the club to gain success. CPFC is just one component of their sports portfolios and as long as it ticks along giving them a small return they are happy with their presence in the EPL.

I think Riedewald will play as a direct replacement for Eze, thus keeping the shape. He has played well in the last two games and has run at defenders with purpose. His passing skills don’t compare but but that’s true of 90% of the players in the PL, let alone those available to us. I agree although imo JR is a very good passer of the ball. Unfortunately I do not think he would be able to last 90 minutes due to lack of playing time. Shame Ahamada is injured as he could have come on from the bench to play the role

To even think it is madness!

Edited by Oddball2021 (04 Oct 2023 1.56am) I don't agree with all that. But I agree with the first bit, it was clear at Villa away that he was dead on his feet at about 70 mins. With a half decent squad wed be able to rest him. But we don't. What probs didnt help is bringing him on at 3 nil down in the cup. Bad decisions all round.
