Talksport reckon Parish will hire Cooper if he's sacked by forest. I'll be surprised tbh.

That's been rumbling for a while...if we were to get less than 4 points from the next two games and Cooper gets the boot then it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I’m a big fan of Roy’s and I’m glad, as a team that spends next to nothing most years, that we have him in charge.

But, I wanted him to leave at the end of last season. After some of the stick he got at end of his last tenure and then calling it a day in front of 5,000 fans in a Covid restricted stadium it would’ve been nice for him to have had a proper send off in a packed Selhurst and whilst his stock was high again after sorting the mess PV had left us in.

And in hindsight any manager we got in during the summer would’ve had a free hit this season as no chance of going down!

Yes, and agree with rest of post, however when he came back, and stayed, in I saw it as indication we'd be getting next to nothing for the first team. Turned out to be the case.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'd be very happy with this. Cooper or Potter for me

Whoever eventually takes over I want someone who can better utilise the players we have. We do have some very good players but they are not giving of their best and I'd like to know if it is Hodgson's tactics that is holding them back.

I think his team selection against West Ham will be indicative of his current thinking - a team with Ward and Schlupp will underline his negativity whereas a newcomer would address our weaknesses and at least try Richards at right back and bring in Ahamada - and also be more imaginative with substitutions instead of the now established ritual of bringing on Mateta to illustrate his lack of ability and the manager's lack of ambition.

I await his line-up on Sunday in the hope it will not be the same old ...

Potter for me. He is not a top 4 manager. But he is a manager who can get a team into Europe.

Palace's last 5 EPL finishes: 11th, 12th, 14th, 14th and 12th.

If Palace can become a side that comes in the top 10 consistently then Potter is a good choice. Palace fans would also bite your hand if you told them that they would get a manager that would get you in the top 10.

First it is not impossible. Last year Palace came 11th. Give Potter time. Not necessarily a lot of money. We know Palace do not spend much compared to other sides. A new RB, ST and retaining the current squad.

Additionally, promoting some players from our academy to the first team squad e.g. Ozoh, Adaramola, Wells Morrison, Ola Adebomi. We keep hearing of how good the academy is but since Mitchell who has really broke through? I think most of our fans would also love to see academy players coming through. Of course we do not expect them to play 90 mins every game but being part of the squad, getting minutes etc..

If we cannot get a new RB and ST why not play Imray and Ola Adebomi? If given the chance, they can be good players to the squad.

The pot of speculation is simmering, the narrative appears to imply that Mr Hodgson is on the brink, his hat is on a shaky peg etc etc. There is a some 'Noise' on this matter but as far as I am concerned it is a load of old phooey.

Would you go as far as to say it’s Hogswash ?

I think we've got the worst centre forward options in the Premier League together with possibly the most limited full back pairing.

Our midfield are bereft of dynamism or a regular goalscorer (unless you include Eze) and we regularly start Schlupp, Ayew and Hughes who can best be described as average when they were in their prime.

I'd say that's a pretty big handicap and the talk of top ten has almost been laughable IMO.

As has been said many times on this forum it's a results business and any manager is only half a dozen bad ones away from being under pressure.

However, I find it ironic that a story like the Telegraph one has come out this early when the Board should be taking a hard look in the mirror at their work over the last few months.

It also worries me that the last decent window was reportedly funded by Textor.
