Its just swings and roundabouts, Brighton have won nothing, they qualified for a cup that is more a hindrance than a prize, they will eventually get relegated like everyone outside the top seven, just look at the Championship more than half of the teams had lengthy spells in the top division.

So why do we even bother or are you saying that we're exempt from your doom and gloom predictions?

I wonder also if you would be as dismissive if we'd achieved what they have. Would you turn up your nose? I know I wouldn't and I bet very few on here would.

What a charming man you are, if being called a pedophile is not a banning situation, then i think you need to rewrite the rules, very upset by those comments

It is blatantly obvious.

They find players from all over the world, get them cheap, sell them on at vast profit and keep doing the same.

Plus they have chosen their managers well.

And of course, they have a modern stadium with a bigger capacity.

If we were to achieve that, I'd consider it a rather large step up. I understand many may not but it'd be big for me in any instance.

Nick, your post reminded me of every news or 'feature' programme on TV these days, where they have to tell you everything that's coming up before it comes up. And then they have to tell you what's coming up after the break and then after the break they have to give a quick summary of what came before the break and then a re-cap of what's coming up (etc, etc, you get the drift).

There's no magic, just money really.

Bloom is a billionaire and it's his money that has propelled them forward.

They were able to build their new ground (which Bloom financed I believe) by just ignoring the fact that a village was in Falmer and slapping it in there. We don't have that space (nor the wealth to just obliterate Sainsbury's) which makes it a lot more difficult and have had to balance a new ground v. squad investment a lot more carefully.

They've grown whilst trying to be self-sufficient, much like Parish has with us, but ultimately Bloom is covering the debts and seems happy to do so indefinitely, so they can push themselves a bit harder and faster than we can at the moment.

They've had some luck with signing and selling, take Caicedo for example, they must have bitten Chelsea's hand off when they came back with £116 million for him having only paid £4.5 million! We've had a couple of transfers that haven't worked out, but on the whole, we've had some very good ones with Eze and Olise being prime examples.

Ultimately though, Bloom is worth £1.3 billion and Parish is worth £100 million, so much deeper pockets. The American backers aren't exactly putting their hands in their pockets, so until someone comes along with the club's best interests at heart and a couple of billion in the bank, this is as good as it's going to get.

There is a lot to look at here. They buy players cheap and sell them on. Yes they do and do it bloody well as not only do they sell on for a huge profit they then unearth another gem. When was the last time we sold a player for a few let alone a profit. Aside from the odd small sale it must have been AWB.

They have a billionaire owner? So do we. Parish does not own Palace. We actually have more than one billionaire owner. They just don't seem that bothered.

As for the ground...well Spurs and Arsenal built new grounds far closer to central London than we are. Most of Croydon is now falling down. You could slap a ground in the town centre there is so much vacant land now Westfield have given up.

Without a doubt our southern friends are very well funded so investment is a big point of difference. Then you have de Zerbi, who is clearly a great manager and destined for bigger things. It'll be interesting to see how they cope once he moves on, which will potentially be quite soon.

The simple answer here that they have a wealthy owner who is not afraid to put money in to the club. He is a good chairman who allow their very good CEO to run the club with very little outward interference. The have a first class manager who knows what he wants and as many have already said a first class recruitment programme which picks up players from all corners of the globe. They do something that we never do as far as the team is concerned and that is detailed succession planning.

Overall, it very simple they are much better organised and run and have investors that believe in the club and its future.
