Given the current state of our attacking options, I can’t see Parish selling for any amount. Not for sale, simple. If we learned anything from the Olise transfer to Chelsea debacle, it’s that the media reports are mostly made up bollocks. I don’t see him going for any price this window. It’s not been an enjoyable window with Zaha leaving, Olise, Eze, Doucoure, Andersen and Ghehi all linked with big clubs. They are all fantastic players and need to be given improved contracts which reflect their value to the club. If we can secure their services on long term contracts, it will show intent from the club and make us an attractive team to be part of. If we can hold the core together, anything below 10th would be disappointing this year.

The huge problem will be the unsettling of our players if the big clubs really come in for them which is unfortunately happening to us now and it's understandable for them ..who wouldn't want more money with the hugely increased chance of medals its how the top sides remain there.

True, but an improved contract with Palace would go some way to helping them settle with Palace. Something which could work in our favour this window is that we have the Euros at the end of season. All players have a chance of making it by playing well and regularly at Palace. If they become benchwarmers elsewhere, they can say goodbye to that.

It is an annual disappointment as a Palace fan seeing our best signings being the retention of existing players and being lauded by our owners as such. Deflection from the true issues at hand at its best.

‘Rumours’ circulating that we have offered Eze a new contract worth £5m a year. Just hitting the press now - so watch this space! They also say a ‘verbal’ agreement in place. I’m keep an eye on Steve Parish’s account - just in case!! If this is true, again, a great boost for the season

I've always pronounced his name 'Ezay', but I've recently noticed that radio and TV commentators now pronounce it 'Ezer' which doesn't sound right to me. Has he, at some point, clarified the way his name should be pronounced? How do you pronounce his name Lanzo, apart from God obviously.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

My understanding is that he asserted his name is pronounced "Ezer", hence the pronunciation by commentators.

No. From a selfish point of view I love watching the two of them play and don't want to see them turning out for anyone else - on the Palace side it's extremely unlikely we could replace them with anyone as good however much they fetch.

In Footballing terms Eze has the ability to be the Gascoigne of his generation. For us fans though this is likely to be his last season at Palace as unless he has a change of heart on the contract extension he will leave next summer. If he continues in his current vein there should be plenty of suitors. 100mil starting bid
