or maybe you just get more selfish and lack empathy as you get older.
Definitely the case with my dad. A working class lad, who always voted left or centre when i was growing up. By the end he became quite right wing and a Brexit voter

Nail on head.

It's not as though they don't get enough lefty or socially liberal media is it.

The one comment I'll concede for the real lefties or socialists is that they are partly excluded as while all the neo liberal stuff agrees with them on most social issues it doesn't on the financial.

However, that's the same situation for most social conservatives as GB News, is itself is very milk toast small 'c' conservativism.

It was forced to get rid of the proper conservatives like Mark Steyn after establishment 'progressive' toady Ofcom went after him about his covid coverage.....considering how the messaging is changing over covid they could end up paying a considerable price for that in the future.

OFCOM is hardly neutral, as you suggest.

Wokeism, or what ever epithet one wants to apply, is certainly not about the old left or traditional Labour.

Good points. Whether you like him or not Starmer represents a more moderate approach to govt, and he quickly realised that to get into power he needs the support of the centre thinking/soft right voters. If you look at the voting over the last 40 plus years of general elections only a move to the right from Blair got Labour into power.
Starmer appears to be replicating this policy.
Whether you liked Corbyn or not, the fact is the 2019 election was a terrible performance from Labour, so something had to change.

I'm not a massive fan of Starmer but i understand his strategy.

The Green party has had decent support over the last 30 odd years but only has 1 MP and this won't improve any time soon.

It appears when a general election comes around the majority of the country vote right of centre.

Agreed. It feels like from what you're saying - is that people don't really want real change Just someone up there who appears to be in control and giving us the illusion of competence.

Boris Johnson being prime minister destroys all the above points I've made. Lol

It's called getting older and wiser.

Except at General Elections the last time I looked they averaged around 7%, they mainly do well as a protest vote in the lesser elections.

Well just the normal channels BBC, Sky News, Channel 4 evening slot.

Really we ought to have a LeftyTV for balance.

But we would't be able to have Labour MPs presenting as they are too right wing.

In fact I am surprised they are not presenters on GBNews themselves.

The way Starmer is sucking up to Blair, it's just a matter of time before his identikits make it to the telly.

Yes, you should get your 'progressive' TV.....as much as it gives me stomach ache to say it and I should get my DR stuff as well. Why should the establishment get to keep all the cherries? More decentralisation I say and less central.....Let similarly minded people come together and dissimilar move apart and live within their own systems....The wealthy get to do it why not us?

More selfish? How much of your income do you give away? There is empathy, which I'm sure he has, and then there is common sense.

Perhaps your Dad just grew up.....the world when he was young was far more conservative than today and perhaps it's more the case that the world changed more than perhaps he did.

Writing was first developed not so a love sick poet could woo his girl but for property ownership.

Yup at some point thousands of years ago people who had wealth wanted to keep hold of it and they needed a way to explain to others "This is mine and not yours".

Nothing has changed.

Yet another scandal to the list with Laurence Fox suspended from the channel for a rant about a female journalist, while the host (who's got a whole host of allegations of his own which everyone is weirdly quiet on) chuckles away.

GB News now sh*tting themselves and apologising left right and centre in the hope they don't get shut down.

Remember, they are here to takeover!
