I think Stirling's long post covered a lot of ground.
We have had many similar cases of abuse of power, with varying outcomes. both politically and in the entertainment-land.
Never disclosed, publicly found out and swerved any real justice, and ultimate career destruction.
I think what Schofield seems to be going through is probably at the extreme of outcomes. The public like to see someone actually get caught and suffer some consequences. Most seem to get away with only very minor career/personal damage.
However, Schofield and his bed-buddy did leave with quite substantial pay-offs. Life-changing amounts for us mere mortals.
I'd be very happy for the meeja and politicians to actually take up the news properly, with stuff like Ukraine and BJ's wassap messages.

If I was a ITV shareholder I be rather angry, a pay off to some young man to keep quite, some liar collecting large salary while working for the ITV

I actually despair of us thinking this rubbish is in any way important.

It's notable that Schofield gets the full two barrels....maybe justified, maybe overdone....looks like we'll find out as they are all over it.

Whereas if you went to already peado convicted Epstein's island and probably banged some possibly underage sex slaves the media suddenly loses all interest.

Now that's power.

With real power comes no accountability.

He is now playing the full victim card deck, hinting he might suicide if people are horrible to him.

What a selfish wonker.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Yeah the 'suicide card' was a sick hand to play. Still saying the people most at risk are him and his lover , who need protecting.

We might ask about the other people really badly impacted by his decision to manipulate people lives with his fixation for young mens bottoms.

Other people have done far worse and 'got away' relatively unscathed. I think the fact he keeps pushing himself onto TV to 'explain' , is not good PR.
The timing with his contrite response to his brother's recent conviction for sexual activity with a boy, rather had any moral high-ground totally stripped from him.

Just fck-off with your big pay-out and go and live somewhere out of the way. Like Cornwall.

He was the lead item yet again on BBC News At Ten last night so I immediately switched over to something else.

Having had yet another phone in on Radio 5 yesterday morning (causing me to switch it off) the BBC are really making a meal out of this

One brother got a big pay-out from his (former) employer and hush-money for his lover, and then goes on about how badly he's been treated, after abusing his position of authority.
The other brother was jailed for 12 years for sexually abusing a boy. Timothy Schofield was found guilty in April of 11 sexual offences involving a child between 2016 and 2019.
Following the verdict, the 54-year-old was sacked from his job as a civilian worker for Avon and Somerset Police.

Imagine trying to juggle a job in the Somerset Police with selling Avon. No wonder he didn't have time to fully prepare his defence.
