Frank, De Zerbi? Two of the best in the league and untried until they arrived. A good manager is a good manager, simple as that.

Both had proper CVs, McCarthy does not have anything serious to recommend him as a PL manager. Doesn't mean it's beyond him, but it's wild to suggest it's not a crazy punt.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Our medium-term planning as a team is done by the DoF. Our 'managers' are just coaches. They do not sign or sell players, they do not offer or withhold contracts, and they do not shape direction. They pick the team and the tactics from the set of players the club provides.

If that is how the job is being sold to prospective managers I doubt whether any half decent manager would join us

I think that this would be a mistake.
We will be back into survival mode and without Wilf - it will be dull and not pretty because I cannot see him unleashing this lot again over the period of a season.
Also - an old man on a one year contract will not attract and new players to the club - I wouldn't have thought anyway.
He should leave at the end of this season with his head held very high.

Roy is highly regarded by most people in the game,he has worked miracles over the last few weeks with what was a goal shy team ,remember? Age is NOT a disqualifier for office Joe Biden is running the World's biggest country.New young players such as Eze will flock to come and tap in to Roy's outstanding knowledge of football. You post was well wide of the mark!

De Zerbi had a reasonable CV but wasn't Frank just the assistant before he got the full time gig when Dean Smith left brentford for villa?

What a wonderful chairman Mr Parish is. Brings back the same bloke as permanent manager who he got rid of 2 years ago. This will end in tears and he will have to sack him sometime next year you watch. It worked this time as it was for 10 games. Having Roy back for a whole pre season and 38 games next season the players will get bored of his tactics by Xmas you mark my words.

Parish will do another u turn and have to sack him in 2024 you watch it will happen 100%.

Before Thomas Frank arrived at Brentford as Asst Head Coach to Dean Smith he had been manager of Brondby and Brentford were not in the PL at that time.He was Assistant for some 2 years before he was appointed manager.

De Zerbi has managed clubs in Serie A and was manager of Shakhtar Donetsk before he was appointed Brighton manager.

Steve Parish did not show Mr Hodgson the door.
Mr Hodgson himself decided that after several years of managing and coaching the time was right for him to step away from the rigours of top-flight Premier League and the football responsibilities of being a full-time manager.
