I guess they were willing to invest the time by shipping him out on loan a couple of seasons and then slowly integrate him into the team and hence it was more of a project purchase and indicated in the price. It worked out well for them. IF we are to pay a bigger fee then I'm guessing we are viewing Franca as a player who will be able to impact the team this season and therefore more willing to spend a sizeable fee. All ifs and buts at the moment though.

This is Palace I expect we are not even really after him or messing about so another team will come in and just sign the papers for him.

Thirty million?? This boy better be something insanely special, what a punt! However the fact that this article has listed Palace as being owned by John Textor doesn't fill me with confidence in its credibility.

30m euros, so about 26m pounds. With the exception of a couple windows, that would be a very percentage of our transfer budget I can only think other potential signings (ie. Schurrs), would be financed by sales.

It does sound like we are buying at the top of the market.

I doubt the fee is that, it would be nearly a million for every proper match he's played. He's only played around 30 proper matches his entire career. Less really, considering soe of the opposition. I'll go out on a limb and say will not adjust to the Premier League this season. He wasn't even a first team regular last season. However, only 19 so could be a star. Could also be a flop but most likely somewhere in between.

If you believe what was reported, then part of the fee is dependent on us qualifying for the champions league. Another thing, is that it was widely reported they wanted €25m for the player. Our first bid looked like €15m with an additional €7m in add ons. We paid around €21m for Eze. I would think if the club feel he has the same potential, then a fee in that region makes sense.

Not only have we beaten WHU, we've beaten Chelsea too! Whatever next!
