Just had a 'ping' from the club, as no doubt hundreds of you have as well, Wardy has officially signed an extention to his contract, 1 down 2 more(Clyne/Tomkins) to go. He's never really let us down as such. He's earned it really. However, still think we should freshen up at full back. If I were an opposing manager I'd target our full backs, particularly with pace.

I think now we’re resigned Ward we can focus on replacing Wilf (assuming he goes as seems to me to be the way it’s going) and getting Gyokeres over the line. I think Clyne has attended preseason with us without a contract in the past so if he was open to that then it would give us more time to see who doesn’t get picked up by another club (let’s face it, we’re not likely to outbid anyone for a player). It from what I’ve read it sounds like Sacha Boey would fit in nicely, however he won’t join us all the while Arsenal are looking, but I’d be surprised if he is their first choice given City are desperate to offload Cancelo. If it’s not looking like anyone worth having is available then resign Clyne for another year. Who knows what’s going to happen though- there could be a bidding war for Guehi next week. Chelsea rejected Brightons £40m offer for Colwill so we shouldn’t consider anything less than £60m for Guehi. If that was all reinvested in the team immediately along with about £15m from the club (mostly coming from the savings we’ll be making not paying Wilfs new contract) then we could afford Boey, Gyokeres, Jack Clarke (my pref LW replacement) and a new CB- Jacob Greaves from Hull would be my choice.

He is reportedly in talks with Paris St.Germain: [Link] 40 million reasons to stay at Palace though.

Not for a second would I want to question the Sun's factual integrity, but I find it really hard to believe we'd offer 200k a week for four years, given his age and how much he's already slowed down over the last couple of years.

Livramento is an interesting one. Was looking v promising before the injury. Wouldn't cost the earth. Being linked to Brighton now. Fits Palace’s recruitment policies down to a tee. Young, local and cheap. Don’t miss out, get it done.

So looks as if Aarons is off the Bournemouth for an initial 7mil. How have we not got involved in this. Perfect opportunity for us sneek in an take him from under thier noses. Will be a great bit of business for Bournemouth. Also if the news is to be believed Spence from Spurs has been put up for sale. I'd like to think Freedman is all over it but I'm not holding out hope Attachment: Screenshot_20230809_215109_Samsung Internet.jpg (613.70Kb)

We have signed 2 right backs for another season…..we won’t be signing a third that’s for sure. I’m not saying I’m happy with what we have but the decision has been made.
