The world doesn't revolve around Palace. Whilst a 5-1 win is exciting TV, the majority of people care about Liverpool Vs Arsenal and whilst Uncle Ian did play for us, he was most successful and is synonymous with Arsenal. Good problem to have though!

The illness affects most BBC output. Premier League reports on teletext were just two pages of Liverpool v Arsenal - no mention of Palace. how many do Palace need to score against Southampton to be first match next Saturday? The BBC are an unreliable news source, and a biased commentary source. FULL STOP.
The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison without formulating any charge known to the law, and particularly to deny him the judgment of his peers, is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist. |

If you've read his biography, you'll know he was about to leave football completely as he was turned away by everyone else before CPFC gave him a chance to trial with the club.

MOTD have allowed the laddish stuff to escalate. Lineker became much more Leicester as they were winning the league and Shearer has followed suit with the geordies. Wrighty has always been Arsenal but will be more avid if they win the league. He is an abrasive character but I still love what he did for us.

Wright, Kompany & just read this morning Garth Crooks is another who's joined the criticism over the PV sacking. I understand they're sticking up for the rare opportunity given to a Black manager in the Premier League but it's overwhelmingly obvious the players had lost faith in his management. Didn't want RH back but he's clearly had a response and, allowing Olise & Eze to play where most affective is reaping rewards, Eze looks like the guy he originally was back at QPR.

I watched it but can't see what the fuss is about. He wasn't his normal bubbly self after the arsenal match and asked some genuine questions about our future strategy... similar to the ones being spoken about in the 'New Manager' thread on here. He also picked out players for praise and the only comment he said about PV was that it's a shame it didn't work out for him. Hardly controversial to say that about a friend. Just enjoy the big win, those highlights have been on repeat since Sunday

Wright looked like he was in a bad mood and that probably reflected in his punditry. He is human. On the other hand they need to stop getting in ex-players to do ALL the punditry. I agree there is a weird backing of PV from every pundit on tv and it highlights for me that ex-footballers are dominating the platforms too much with their own agendas. We need a variety of people presenting - tacticians, referees, managers, statisticians like OPTA. Ex-players will always back players. I think this whole furore over the referee elbowing Robertson is ridiculous. It was a nothing event and now probably cost a man his entire career over reacting to a player getting in his personal space. But so many ex-players have come out saying that he deserves a ban like Chris Sutton. These ex-players are far more bias than the BBC.

TBH I think MoTD should not have fans of the clubs involved doing punditry, it just becomes farcicle. Ian Wright was evidently peed off about his mate PV getting the bullet but clearly wasn't taking an unbiased look at the stats from the last few games. MoTD is a joke.

Only ever contributes to my misanthropic opinion however that a lot of football punditry and therefore commonly held views of the game are promulgated by ex-players who are in the main thick and have no inclination to present anything but their subjective (thick) opinions on matters. # The overwhelming commentary supporting a manager who was leading us through and toward further disaster without anything for me to tangibly grip beyond 'tough run in' took the biscuit for me.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I know I shouldn’t get involved in threads like this because it winds me up, but anyone slagging off one of our greatest players is the tosser. He has every right to be proud of his Arsenal career and if he doesn’t get overly excited about palace, so what? He gave me 6 great years ending up as part of our best ever team, so for the memories I think I can forgive him, and I’m sure anyone who was actually around at the time would feel the same. Edited by monkey (10 Apr 2023 9.54am) I am positive that any rock in Brasil is much nicer than whatever cave you crawled out of. And as for calling me a bellend, you sir are a filho da puta!

My take on Ian’s rather down beat assessment of our victory over Leeds . Simply he wanted PV in the dugout, the fact that Roy has rekindled the mojo of the squad has clearly miffed IW
