So were Leeds and Leicester, but look what happened there!

Another poster called this a MUST WIN. I disagree, because we will have quite a few more opportunities to pick up the points we need to stay up. I call it a BEST NOT TO LOSE!

Agree.

Interestingly, just to offer up the ridiculous, if we were to win here there is every chance Chelsea could lose to BHA next weekend and we would therefore be only 3 points behind them! Outrageous proposal I am aware.

With the above a possibility however would mean that we were on 36 points which I would consider as 'all but' in terms of safety with 7 games left to play. Hard to think our survival therefore hinges upon this one and I would take the draw happily. I am very unusually confident in getting something however off the back of Roy's arrival and the last two results.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Southampton are feeling the heat, whereas we have a new found confidence and flair, thanks in the main to Roy,certainly not the previous incumbent!!
We could probably end up winning 3-1.

Not outrageous at all. It's highly feasible. It might have seemed outrageous a few weeks ago before Chelsea went into freefall.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Yes, in my head I agree however my stomach wants to present and maintain a nervous front and suppress any objective or realistic show of optimism

COYP things could be far far worse now however a massive couple of results of us and positivity restored.

I visited 'The Dell' on a few occasions. The stand behind one of the goals was certainly unique!

Did you have any driving lessons from him, he was giving lesson in your area, when football gave him up.

I did hear he became a driving instructor after he retired from football but that was a few years after I passed my test.

After the Leeds game (before which most so called 'pundits' predicted a comfortable home win) the manager wisely played down any euphoria noting we still need more points.

Southampton have some very good players who are underperforming yet held City for half the game so I don't think it will be an comfortable ride for us.

With no Zaha to kick around I expect them to treat Olise and Eze in a similar way.

However, if we don't concede free kicks for JWP to cut loose we should be able to get a point at the least.

I also very happy that Johnstone is proving a more than capable deputy/successor to Guaita. And, whether told to or not, he is eschewing the passing out of defence which this season has been obsessive and unproductive.

I am hoping that after 2 wins the lads have got the confidence going and not worry about the points required but just go out beat the team they are up against.

I admit when we play Southampton there is always some needle and something that happens against the run of play but I think a nice little 1 -2 win will make our weekend.

It's a MUST win for Southampton and no longer a must win for us. In these circumstances, their aggression and our timidity might get them a lucky win. However on balance a draw is the most likely result.

Come on…this is Crystal Palace you are talking about. When have we ever been predictable!

Expected to win…but then you know what will happen…

We will go unbeaten rest of the season except perhaps for Spurs.

This is the way

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

With us in a decent spell we will be the favourites but a point would do for us whereas a win is much needed by them so for me it's an away win.
Is it only me or do we look better without Wilf? hate to say it as he has been a favourite over the years but seems to want a super goal rather than a team performance lately.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
