Nuno Espirito Santo. We were originally in for him and he went for Spurs.

Understandable at the time, but I think he's at our level.

Bring him in from the desert (literally).

Liverpool fans are texting me that Rafa would be good. I'm not convinced. Anyone that keeps us up will be a hero like Hart.
Personally, do not want Roy but there you go. He did well for us but that was then.
Of the available, Hassenhutl or whatever his name is seems most fitting. Carrick or Kompany for the long term - hopefully not in the championship.

Hassenhuttl or Bielsa would do for me. I say that without any real enthusiasm however. Both have some gravitas and recent PL experience which I think is needed for our players and might get them actually working. Bielsa's lack of English concerns me.

Kompany or Carrick - Similar to PV are they not? Both doing really well so why would they come and an untested (PL) manager probably not the best option in our current predicament.

Lampard, Gerrard, Parker - No way.

NES or Benitez - I have sincere doubts.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Why would Roy want to come back? He's earned his place in the sun.

Because he cares deeply about Palace, unlike the previous joker, self gratification all that mattered to him.

Hassenhuttl or Bielsa would send us straight to the championship ,
From what I have seen Carrick would be a great appointment and would jump at chance of premier league management for a team sat in 12th Komoamy probably the same
However
After all my recent predictions coming true , I genuinely thought it would be Carrick , but it will be Roy Hodgson based on the betting

Dougie Freedman- Temp charge till the end of the season.

Firstly i think he deserves a chance to manage a team in the Prem for few games..

He knows the squad and their abilities
Knows how to manage individual players
Knows how to set up a team to be contained but also to attack
Undoubtably he will increase the work rate of this team

i honestly think he is best placed to get the most from this team in a short period of time.

It wasn't panicking though was it. It was the feeling from a promising, attractive style of play last season to gradual decline and piss poor, lackluster, scared performances leading nowhere. It was coming and this moment is as good as any.

We all new we were in a tough run of games after the WC break and have got through them picking up more points than many predicted . Yes it was negative football but that was what was required .

After the weekend and another break its game on with more winnable games , They pannicked .

Well there we go...

Can only hope that we have someone lined up and can take advantage of the international break as let's be honest, doesn't really matter who is manager on Sunday, I can't see us realistically getting a result against Arsenal at the moment.

My money would be on Hasenhuttl, Kompany and Carrick aren't going to come to us, why would they and they've not got any prem experience which is what we need right now. In my mind Lampard burnt his bridges with us when he said we "weren't a big enough club" and he hardly sets the world on fire with his approach. I would of preferred Dyche, but obviously that ship has sailed.

Parker and Gerrard, would rather not thanks.

The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots

...but then who will oversee bringing in the next tranche of dross incapable of passing forwards, shooting, putting the ball in the back of the net?

Really hope there is a plan and it’s not the usual s*** show. Expect someone truly underwhelming. A few deluded suggestions on here, who would possibly want the job. We have Zaha leaving in the summer no goal scorer, no goals from midfield…. It’s bleak.

There's a huge challenge in the summer with loads of players and Wilf on the move, so best that the change is made asap. A timely tweet from Dazza would be welcome, but I guess the only two people who know what's going on are Parish and Dougie.

Next manager odds are normally spot on , bookies don’t take more than a bullseye on any bet with “next manager” they have sources and the fact Roy has been slashed to 5/4 within in hour speaks volumes

That’s absolute garbage. The bookmakers don’t know any more than we do. They’re just guessing like the rest of us.

I'd be gobsmacked if we appoint someone who hasn't managed in the PL before. More likely than not to appoint someone on a ~3 month contract.

Hodgson is probably the most likely in terms of hitting the ground running. We have a far better squad than when he was last here. Hassenhutl a genuine possibility - he kept an awful team above water for a fair while.

Bielsa is such a gamble - especially with wanting to implement a specific style that we just don't have the time or fitness to execute.

If our next permanent manager is to be someone who is already at a club, I can't see it happening until the summer.
